Kobe-16 PPG, 5 RPG, 4 APG, 1.4 BPG, 36% FG%, 33/90----5 games

2001 NBA Finals

Shaq- 33 PPG, 16 RPG, 5 APG, 3.5 BPG, 63/110 57% FG-----5 games
Kobe- 24 PPG, 8 RPG, 6 APG, 1.4 BPG, 44/106 41% FG------5 games

Bosh and Love are number one options. With that logic anyone who didn’t win a ring weren’t number one options in hindsight. Was Barkley not a number one option? Patrick Ewing? Gary Payton? Reggie Miller? Clyde Drexler? If Love was still in Minnesota with all the guys they have now, they’d be a dangerous team. If Bosh was still in Toronto with all the guys they have now, they’d be a dangerous team. Both dudes were averaging like 22 & 8. That’s Tim Duncan numbers.
This is the issue with the "stacked deck", narrative Bron haters run with. Breh...Bosh has 2 First Round exits in 7 years as the man with no more appearances. Love has no playoff appearances. In 13 seasons of basketball between them there's 3 playoff wins total. And you're comparing them to cats who made runs to the Finals.

You don't know what Love or Bosh would've did, they cut their solo careers short playing with Bron for 5 plus years.

Besides, I can just bring up players who didn't make the Finals. Was Alonzo Mourning not a first option (not counting that gimme ring he got in 2006)? Was Dominique Wilkins not a first option? Was Stephon Marbury not a first option? Was T-Mac not a first option? That logic is real shaky.

7 and 6 years is enough. Being a first option on garbage teams =/= being one on contending teams. Bosh missed the offs in his last 2 years in Toronto meaning there was no positive trend. They weren't gonna do shyt.

No to Alonzo. He would've been better served being a #2.
Yes to Nique but he was Melo before Melo in being a great scorer who didn't do much else.
Marbury; see Alonzo, matter of fact being a PG in that era he might've even been better served being #3.
T-Mac was a first option, he had poor luck with the health of Grant Hill in Orlando and himself in Houston.

You're also in here saying Pippen wasn't half as talented as Wade so I shouldn't even be taking you serious.

I’m not gonna bother to reply to your points because your logic is full of holes.

Wade is and was a superstar. At worst a top 3 shooting guard. Pippen wasn’t a superstar and is not a top 5 anything. I’ll give him top 10 small forward. It’s pretty cut and dry :heh:

Because you can't.

You cannot definitively name 5 SFs better than Pippen, but that's based talent+accolades and the point is solely talent. Pippen has just as much talent as any other ATG but didn't have the drive to be the alpha dog, though playing next to Jordan he didn't have to.
