Ava had to add the Trans-story line in there huh....
You know something? That’s real talk. You’re right. I’ve been putting it off but I didn’t think about it from your perspective. That this is a real life teaching moment for my kids. Like your brother - mine are in a sheltered type of environment. Not around white people but not “street savvy” . I’m in the mindset to protect them as much as possible while their father is more about instructing and keeping them grounded /exposed to the realities of life - no filter. Def a movie that we need to watch as a family and with the family. Probably go watch with my brother and his kids too. Appreciate your feedback -I have to put my emotions about it to the side.I feel you. I watched the documentary too but in this series, the only thing I didn't know about was Korey Wise went through especially in the 4th episode, he got the worse all of them than boys that didn't tell in the documentary so I guess he decided to tell the story now.
However, they need to watch that shyt anyway cause this shyt could have happened to your kids. This is real life story.
The sad part about even adults don't know how to handle the court system. Even adults without a lawyer, but teenagers. One of them his mother didn't even know they had him in custody.
Trust me, You would feel much better if you watch with your kids with this series. My older brother did watch witth his 14 year old son with this show. He has 3 sons, 14, 8, 5.
They all go to white schools. My brother has to school them especially the older son, the police is not your friend

That’s messed up about his mother- how did she not know that her son was in custody. I’m not going to read through the rest of this thread until I watch it. The documentary wasn’t as detailed as this movie seems to be from what you described. Sinister.. smh.
I will - I’ll come back and let you know about my watch experience. I may tag you as I watch it over the weekend.Go watch the whole 4 episodes and come back to me. Especially watch with your family.
Especially, Just think about Emmett Till's mother. She wanted to let the whole world and let the news to see her son's funeral for what these devil cacs did to her son. She was a brave woman for that while her son got fukked up face, too graphic, etc.
What really made me angry is how the cops interviewed basically doubled down and refused to admit any culpability for what they done. They were basically like "they may not be the rapists but they were in the park harassing and attacking people, and now people are treating them like they're innocent victims and they get to get rich for suing us.". Now, you got a cave evil liar white woman bytch admitted it lie about Emmett Till cause she was dying. I hope Judgement Day is real. Everyone will be called to stand before God's throne on the day of judgment.
By the way, I'm just a little bit drunk off whiskey. Just to let you know
I felt bad really bad for korey. Every choice he made just fukked up more and more. Going to the police department with Yusef then has a CO that’s relatively cool and looks out for him and instead he wants to transfer and ends up transferring to a place ever more fuked up.Part 4 is the hardest episode to watch this is deep wow

Surprised Ava Duverney is making this. Doesn't she hate black men?
Um..no? I follow her on Twitter and I've never seen any indicator she hates Black men, it's quite the opposite.
For DuVernay, who based Meg’s look on her niece Molly, one of the most crucial relationships in A Wrinkle in Time is the budding rapport between Meg and her white classmate Calvin (Levi Miller), who twice compliments Meg’s natural curls. “The fact that this Caucasian boy says to her, ‘I like that’? That’s so big for a girl of color!” said DuVernay. “And it’s big for Caucasian boys to be able to feel that’s beautiful, too.”
I was curious how Meili felt about all this. fukk her.Central Park Jogger Praised The Racist Prosecutors, ‘They Treated Me With Such Dignity’

“When that lawsuit was settled, it gave some the impression that the detectives and the prosecutors had acted improperly and I’d like to see it be acknowledged that there wasn’t a violation of (the teens’) civil rights,” Meili said
that bytch could've died that night if you ask me
