Both fathers worried about their job over sons.
I don't think it was that simple. They're worried about survival. You can see these men have been worn down by the circumstances and inability to provide for their families. Omar was dealing with his own demons and trauma. That kind of trauma would mean making good and obvious decisions unbearably difficult.

That’s really what triggered me. Everyone of the minority characters were in a position where they were all subservient to the white cops...not knowledgeable of their rights, scared to look the cops in their eyes, having to lose all sense of their manhood. That first episode was tough to watch.

Exactly. I’m sure if both men know how truly serious this shyt was they’d gladly have just lost they’re jobs. It’s more of a commentary of how brutal the rat race is. Raymond’s dad was scared to lose just one day of work cause of him either losing his job or losing the money that would cripple someone who’s most likely living check to check.

And Tron’s dad knows better than anyone how hard it is to find work with a record.

Goodness. I watched the last episode last night and man, It. Was. HEAVY!!!

I can't lie, I usually don't cry and haven't cried in over 5 or 6 years, but I was letting it go like a baby yesterday. I "boo-hoo" cried once and had tears at least 3 times during that episode.
I pictured myself or my loved ones in that position and man...But it was the first convo with Korey and his mom that put me over the top. He asked his mom if there was anything he could do to help her out.

Man when he said that the water works came on...What a strong brotha with the utmost integrity. I couldn't even imagine. He didn't even do anything, wasn't even there but caught the brunt of the punishment. What mental, emotional and psychological strength. For me, it let me know, God is real and intentional. Yes, he caught a bad break but God was with him. In the form of the guard Roberts, in the meeting(s) with Reyes, in that solitary cell. (not to get religious, that was for ME, my perspective)

I just can't understand how the people that did that to those boys can look at themselves? I cried watching, how are they not tormented with this? I don't hate them, but that's scary that people can be that cold-hearted.

Much props to Ava, the actors, and the men (Central Park 5) and anybody who had a hand in this production. Excellent work. Poignant, emotional, and powerful work they did with this. More people should know about this and be sharing this (I'm thinking about celebs...why are many of them silent on this?)
