Exactly. All these dudes claiming Jay shyt was ether AND than naming every real reason the Mobb was declining. The robbery incidents and the Star interview had much more effect. But again, the main reason was P's sharp decline in quality verses. Jay just did some corny high school shyt that, as usual, Jay made his minions believe had some type of monumental effect.

Jay-Z has stans that believed that he was their surrogate father. At that point, Jay's influence was on some God type shyt, making nikkas do whatever he wanted. He had a generation of nikkas (some posters on here) think that he was the next MLK. :russ:

To tell you how fukked up it was, I remember Mobb went on Flex show to promote Infamy. Mind you, this was right after Ether and Superugly dropped. I remember Flex telling them, "I know Jay and Nas both mention y'all but this battle is bigger then y'all now." Basically saying, y'all (Mobb Deep) are an afterthought in this battle right now. I was like :lolbron::russ:

What DIRECT effect did Jay showing a 1983 baby pic of Prodigy dressed as Michael Jackson have?

Did it make Prodigy write worse raps? Nope. We already established P fell off before 01 Summer Jam.

Did it effect their street cred? Nope. The robbery incidents and Star interview did that.

Did it effect their sales? Nope. By 2001 the Mobbs kind of music wasn't gonna sell anyway.

Jay got laughs and again fooled his stans into believing he did some shyt.

Even though P's lyrics and delivery was underwelming during the "Infamy" era, I thought their diss back was actually pretty hard:

No it wasn't. That was the last real era for NYC hip hop, Nas, Ja, Cam and 50 came right after.

I don't think it had much of an effect...by then most cats knew P was a cookie.
