They see me trolling, they hating.....
Without DMX did would be no Ruffryders movement

the man alone started a movement.

I always thought that X had some kind of stock in RR the same way Jay was an owner of Rocafella. The fact that he didn't was a huge mistake IMO......

It ruined NYC hip hop IMO. that's not to say it's not a dope album but it's ramifications were deadly on the sound of NYC.

that album dropped in the midst of the shiny suit era, if anything it brought NY grime back

NY lyricism was already out the door no?

I'm talking about the way NYC hip hop beats sounded.

Think of the difference between Smif N Wessun and the Cocoa Brovaz albums sonically.

That's the shift in sound that startled the fukk out of me when I heard DMX's album initially.

It started that super aggro, synth heavy, sample free, microwaved keyboard beat phase that all but buried the roots of hip hop productions glory years.

The stuff that happened after that album is some of the worst shyt I've ever heard. fukkin clue & duro, megahertz, DJ shok, just blazes initial keyboard stuff, Ron browz etc.

Gotcha so because producers were forced to think instead of build of what was already there you disliked it. Gotcha

I was the only hip hop head in my circle at that time, every man was on a UK garage ting at the time but the one hip hop artist they would listen to at the time was dmx because he was raw.
