We're on the blood path now
Lot t*ts sass of casuals in here
bhop never went up and cleared out every division like roy.
then, after becoming a hw, went back down and damaged his physiology, to defend a title he could have just dropped.
plus, roy bodied bhop when you would judge the height of their boxing skill.
not to mention, bhop never got in ring with imo,...the most dangerous boxer in the sport:
GLEN JOHNSON
when, johnson was at the height of his boxing prowess.
plus, roy fought johnson weight depleted and with his body's physiology completely out of whack.
which roy did just to chase history.
as, that was all that there was left legacy wise for roy in boxiing to do.
if you mention roy's losses...
they all have asterik's beside them.
as there is a much larger story to the losses than just what is printed on the box.

If roy jones was the greatest boxer he wouldn't have fallen off when he got slower
Pound for Poy Roy coming out with Meth and Red performing Da Rockwilder
...is the one of the GOAT BLACKEXCELLENCE boxing intro
Roy's reign on top was long as fukk breh, what are you talking about? He was p4p #1 for years. He was the best fighter, of any division, of the 1990s and you can make an argument that he was the best overall athlete of that decade as well. You don't know shyt about boxing, I'm a Roy fan, he was the best when he was ranked p4p, but his reign on top was shorter than leprechuans
So Glen Johnson was at the height of his boxing prowess when he was a old man and KO"d Jones with ease
but Bernard Hopkins was the quintessential late bloomer, but Roy beat him at his height
Hopkins beat glen johnson when he was undefeated
and Roy Jones never cleared out any division he moved up in weight classes
Hopkins was the longest reiging Middleweight champion in history and even unified all the titles, becoming UNDISPUTED champion at MW when he belt De La Hoya
Roy never did that
Roy didn't have no comp, wasn't his fault, but he literally had nobody to fight
even if you retired at Ruiz, winning the WBA heavyweight belt was a nice notch in the belt
only fight he looked weight drained was the first Tarver fight where he won
he didn't look right in that fight
in the second fight, he was back to roy jones he was winnning the fight showing speed and power, and just got caught
but if you watch any one of his fights you can see roy was always wide open when he as on the offensive
skills pay bills, Bernard is better and will go down as such when its all said and done

Let's be real here, over the last 30 years or so there have only been three REAL P4P #1s - Sweet Pea, Roy, and Floyd.
And what I'm saying is at no point was Oscar or Shane a better p4p fighter than Roy Jones, just as at no point was Manny (or anyone else) ever a better p4p fighter than Floyd during his run.Roy was probably p4p for 3 and 4 years, Oscar De La Hoya was # 1 pound for pound, and so was Shane Mosley for a few years around the same time roy was still undefeated
Roy dominated for ten years, but I'm just talking p4p
