My personal opinion? To put a modern ethnic concept to what they were would be, native egyptian with the eventual mix of surrounding cultures. Sorry, but I just can't get into the afrocentric ideas about Egypt. It's very clear that they saw themselves different culturally and phenotypically for the most part from their neighbors in the north and south.

Lol but there's an array of different features all throughout modern Egypt, with the southerners having more African dna than the northerners, so saying "native Egyptian" is pretty vague. :francis:

And the Nile was not always populated, so where do you think the first inhabitants migrated from ?

I don't find anything wrong with what the OP said. I do find it annoying that guys on that Hotep tip don't know anything about Africa, but Egypt. In general, I don't think a lot of them really know anything, just recycle memes. You ask them a question and you either get no answer or something along the lines of "do your research", lol. Their thinking isn't far from prominent black nationalist figures in the late 1700s through early 1900s who were quite educated but did not know about Africa besides Egypt and Ethiopia(from the Bible).

Truth and logic
I was gonna leave it alone but I need to assert this: I'm not a fukking racist.

Your words and actions say otherwise.

I hate white supremacy.

Then stop behaving like a white supremacist/racist by interjecting your unwanted opinions and harmful ideologies in a thread that doesn't concern you.

You have no authority to tell black people how to process information. You have no business being in our business. You are not our savior, voice of reason, or anything of the sort.

I have never said anything racist on this site, and I've never been called or even been implied to be a racist ever in my life.

You are in denial as to what racism is, which is why you are incapable of seeing that your words and actions are dripping with white supremacist logic.

Sorry dna shows they were mostly related to in tuts time, great lakes Africans and southern Africans. They were from a lot of places. Different African tribes all came there. They also have west African and horn African DNA. In tuts time. But no european. We also already tested the mummies and they were JET BLACK.

Really what "race" civilizations were shouldn't matter. What "race" they were provides us no real understanding of their society because those places didn't even have conceptions of race generally - for example the real solidification and formation of race as a concept in Europe began in about the 14th century as they became more exposed to Africans.

People just use the reputed "race" of ancient civilizations to make modern political points. Mostly white supremacists do it. It's ahistorical :francis:
Tell that to your ancestors that have been whitewashing history since antiquity.

I do. Ancient societies shouldn't be racialized, whether it's the ancient Greeks, ancient Romans, the "Norse", etc. White supremacists pull that bullshyt all the time and they're wrong.

I lived there for many years and got to learn a lot about the history along the way. I did meet some AAs that came there with delusions of grandeur about Ancient Egypt only to end up disappointed.
I remember another black student that was with me in Egypt put it best when she called ancient Egypt "scraps" of black African history, which is basically what it is. I think Black Americans care so much about Egypt only because White people glorify it so much. There are so many other ancient African cultures to care about beside Egypt. Of course, Black Africans (Nubians) were at times rulers of Egypt, ruled by Egypt (even captured slaves as disturbingly depicted on monments), enemies and friends of Egypt and even intermixed with Egyptians but to say that Egypt was this original black country who was erased by white surpremicy is kind of reaching. Even the ancient Egyptians distinguished themselves from Nubians and other groups in the region.
It's not completely our fault. I mean, how much do we really learn about Africa outside of Egypt in school? I think in grade school we spent about 10 minutes learning about Khartoum, Benin..etc.

You're a fuking idiot, who obviously learned Egyptian History from a bunch of whitewashed sand cacs.

So before race we can just lump everyone together and their all our ancestors? So I can claim the ancient Chinese?
Ancient civilizations, though they encountered and included people from many different parts of the world, did not make social distinctions based on physical appearance. They distinguished people according to customs and religion; not race.

Do Igbos, Shona, or whatever claim ancient Eygptians or do they claim their tribe?
