jock kings and queens that are all shades and shapes ie ancient egypt but feel embarrass about those jungle warriors in papa new guinea..they black too!
Depends how colonized & indoctrinated from foreign customs, borders & religions they are. Look at the Dogon in West Africa for example. They've done a good job preserving their history, language & customs since they left the Nile Valley & their is an obvious connection. They've been mapping stars without "modern" tech with precise accuracy and even have the same word for "water" & have ancient initiations that go back to antiquity. Is this all a coincidence?
If I believe im what the ancient Chinese did can I claim their history?Ancient civilizations, though they encountered and included people from many different parts of the world, did not make social distinctions based on physical appearance. They distinguished people according to customs and religion; not race.
Do Igbos, Shona, or whatever claim ancient Eygptians or do they claim their tribe?

Really what "race" civilizations were shouldn't matter. What "race" they were provides us no real understanding of their society because those places didn't even have conceptions of race generally - for example the real solidification and formation of race as a concept in Europe began in about the 14th century as they became more exposed to Africans.
People just use the reputed "race" of ancient civilizations to make modern political points. Mostly white supremacists do it. It's ahistorical
Can I claim tichitt walata. That was 2000bc. Those people live from Mauritania to Ivory Coast. Mande folks. Can we claim them or is it too long ago?You don't know where your ancestors come from, so claim whatever you want breh.
That's real breh. You live in a predominantly white society, and you automatically see things through your experiences, which are based upon your white upbringing. You don't realize it because you aren't Black. But Blacks often go through the school system, and social system being forced to learn mainly about white history and white people. We are told how great white people are, and then our instructors paint Blacks as being pathetic people that could not help themselves and needed whites to help us, which makes us see ourselves as being less rather than equal. Instructors label it, "Western history" which holds the same meaning as white history. So when you say, what "race" civilizations were shouldn't matter, you are, to me, exemplifying your ignorance. Race does matter as that is what defines a person's identity. We know who we are based upon those that looked like us in the past, and we move forward from there. You are coming from your experience where your identity has been identified. You had the opportunity to learn about white society throughout the ages. Blacks never get that chance when it comes to Black history unless we do the digging ourselves.
So, instead of speaking more in terms of your own focal point, try pivoting that point to see through a Black lens.

My personal opinion? To put a modern ethnic concept to what they were would be, native egyptian with the eventual mix of surrounding cultures. Sorry, but I just can't get into the afrocentric ideas about Egypt. It's very clear that they saw themselves different culturally and phenotypically for the most part from their neighbors in the north and south.
North Africa is the only part really compromisedIt's not that we don't, I love to read to about #blackexcellence all over the motherland, it's just according to the OP and the thread premise we should focus our studying on west africa since supposedly we have no cultural ties to north or east africa.
THATS RIIIIIGHTShout-out to all my "Hoteps".
