So before race we can just lump everyone together and their all our ancestors? So I can claim the ancient Chinese?

Many so- called "hoteps" do try to claim the ancient chinese.

Ancient civilizations, though they encountered and included people from many different parts of the world, did not make social distinctions based on physical appearance. They distinguished people according to customs and religion; not race.

Do Igbos, Shona, or whatever claim ancient Eygptians or do they claim their tribe?

The ironic thing is that AE was "culturally" similar to ancient Greece and Persia. That's why it wasn't that hard for their civilizations to interact and exchange ideas over the centuries.

The Egyptians were great builders and masters of the arts but in many ways you can make the argument that the "other" African cultures that people are conditioned to consider as "primitive" were superior, because they are STILL around today and as vibrant as ever. Though less in number, they survived Islamic and European Christian aggression.

Meh, nikkaz do only act like Egypt was the ONLY thing Black people ever did, but so do White people:yeshrug:

The much bigger problem is that people act like Egypt is the only society that ever mattered in Africa. If you continue that narrative, while ignoring the Ashanti, Mali, Songhai, etc. . ., then Black people are forced to claim Egypt as it would be our ONLY great contribution, whereas Timbuktu was the learning capital of the world at one point. There's plenty of great Kings, Queens, and Empires that came before and after Ancient Egypt that most people just don't talk about because they're too busy glamorizing Cleopatra and King Tut, as if Queen Nzinga and Mansa Musa weren't great as well.

Yes, Egypt was great, but we can't let White folks control our minds to the point where we ignore EVERYTHING else great about our history just to keep it focused on Egypt.

The obsession with Cleopatra :scust: They will even settle for her being mixed just to claim her. Still wouldn't make her black.

There are far more interesting queens like Hatshepsut.

I think it's crazy that people take umbrage with individuals connecting with Egypt yet have no qualms with them drinking 40's all day and thinking the only ancestry they have resides in southern slavery:comeon:

Most AA are doing they best the can to eke out a sustainable existance in this cursed land of America. But then to sh!t on them because they don't have time to dig deeper and appreciate other African empires:scust:
It's a struggle to find black entertainment, let alone decent entertainment and the arduous task of finding reputable info on our history can be very difficult for many. I try to work with what they know and build on that. Just meeting a black person not enamored with western history and understands who taught the Greeks whom cacs rely so heavily upon I'm happy and proud they know that much!!:blessed:

Facts. We can't let cacs distract us with Egypt. Like if the average black person knew that the dogon were tracking stars that only were discovered by others last century, 1k+ years ago they would put Egypt on the back burner. Or if they knew we had a writing system like nsbidi in Nigeria we would maybe wanna research that more. But cacs have us thinking that Egypt is the only great place and you know we see everything Through their lens. So its really to be expected. It's really our job to promote other areas.

The same reason cacs are obsessed with Egypt, even though there is no cac that has ever developed in a desert anywhere on Earth.

:stopitslime: Now, who has said anything about Black people drinking 40s and only knowing about slavery?

This thread is about not being fixated on a small part of our history just because CACs are obsessed with it.

Thank you. Thats the main issue. Many people think Egypt was the first last and only great African civilization and they want to cling to it because they know nothing else. If they knew about the others they might stop being so obsessed with Egypt. Do you have any good books to recommend?

I was never too interested in Egypt. I always wondered are other nations as obsessed with Egypt as America is? Do other African diaspora or African countries care? We make a Cleopatra movie every few years and every body gets a rise out if her race and start debating. We do some ancient Egyptian movie almost every year. Every halloween someone dresses up like a pharoah. Like why? Does Jamaica care about Egypt? Does Japan make movies about Egypt? shyt, do current Egyptians care about Queen Cleopatra? why does America care so much?

ok let's get done with all the speculation, conspiracy theories & biblical Khazar myths and let's get into some FACTS.
11891450_433994573454320_9193057994774246289_o.jpg

There were MANY invasions over the course of over 1,000 years that drove the native Kemites & Kushytes back into south, central and west Africa.

IMPORTANT DATES
525BC - Persian invasion
332BC - Greco Invasion
30BC - Roman invasion (source of most biblical history, AKA why the vatican calls itself the ROMAN catholic church)
639AD - Arabic invasion and why you see Sand cacs screamin Allah Akbar with AK's & suicide vests to this day

And for the c00ns & cacs who always wonder "why do AA's care so much about Egypt???". I ask you this, why do Europeans try to claim the red, white & blue? Last I checked the red Nile, blue Nile & white Nile were in Africa...
