You can make close to Iraq/Afghanistan money in the pacific now with better quality of life if you’re in a vetted position.

:sas2:
This is related to the post but more so a general question

Role: Lead Logistics Specialist
Salary: 120k base plus daily per diem
Loc: PACOM

I’m an Army Veteran, drilling Reservist, and have a clearance. I’d be making 50-60k if I were in the States.
:scust:
DoD contracting can be lucrative.
:russ:
North Korea, China, and Russia better not act up.
These earthquakes, typhoons, and tsunamis though…
:sadcam:
Where you be finding these contracting jobs?

Social worker (not an LCSW).

$80k

Making an extra $30k doing taxes
My girl is an LCSW.. works for a non profit, work seems pretty chill and I swear she hardly ever gets her weekly hours since people cancel all the time but works from home and 2-3 of those days feel like she hardly works at all

:ehh: real 6 figure, 6 cert shyt

What was the entry position into your field?

And how long (years) did it take to get where yall at now?

I switched careers because of a thread on the coli. If you look through my posts, you can see where I was talking about it. Then I went hard for 2 years studying programming so that I could become a software engineer.

I'm still only upper five figures (like 80k) and like 4-5 certs :to: not living up to my status as a coli poster

But that said, I'm an employee and not a contractor - got great benefits, tons of PTO, WFH, and a retirement plan :yeshrug: so I'm fairly content for now.

If I stay where I'm at I automatically have the option to retire in my 50s. Making 100K wouldn't be worth it if I had to give up my benefits.

Search "tech", "programming", "software" in my posts, ya know, terms like that. I was leading you to the water, I didn't know I had to make you drink too. :skip:
:pachaha:i'm good breh. I ain't bout to do math on 500+ posts for the simple answer of how many years it took to get to your level now.

Doesn’t seem like it.. she meets with clients and people like an actual therapist and discusses problems/things they wanna talk about
Dope. Had a couple of (female) family members that wanted to pursue a career in social work.

Seems like it can fulfilling/rewarding, but I remember we pretty much discouraged them due it seeming emotionally burdensome, restrained with bureaucratic tape.....all for low pay. For some reason, (back then) I assumed the average top pay for them was around 50k.

But it sounds like yours has a great setup with, surprisingly to me, good pay.
