The fad comes and goes. I was listening to pastor Jon on Kwave and he basicly laid out the times when these atheists fades come and go. It was big in the 60s and 80s also.Exactly, I thought we were past the days of atheism being 'in.'
Why are you so concerned with my sexuality??say your prayers and go to sleep, fakkit
I actually agree with this... probably the weakest atheist I've ever seen. At least when I was an atheist... I was 100% an atheist and not scared in my belief. All these posters and only 4 real atheist. There aren't that many atheists on this board. Just a lot of confused agnostics and wannabe's convinced that 'lack of belief' is a logical stance.......
It appears you dont even know what an "agnostic" is or what it means. Agnostic isnt some midpoint between theist and atheist. If you cant get the simple things right how am I supposed to respect your opinion? There aren't that many atheists on this board. Just a lot of confused agnostics and wannabe's convinced that 'lack of belief' is a logical stance.......
What if everyone has it wrong and the Ancient Mayans had it right? Its gonna be a cold day if judgement comes and all the religious hooplah ends up being true.
Even colder if the Muslims have it right...
What if everyone has it wrong and the Ancient Mayans had it right?
Pascal's Wager is probably the worst argument ever. What if "the gawd" is a rationalist and sends people to hell for believing in dumb shyt without sufficient evidence? Theres an infinite amount of what ifs. And the Abrahamic religions make such little sense that those are already known false.
you phrased the question wrong. Why would I believe in what there is no evidence for?Not arguing anything, idc if people believe or not
My only question is what is there to gain in not believing, and that was answered.
My fault.you phrased the question wrong. Why would I believe in what there is no evidence for?
Because the religious like to impose their belief system (without any evidence of it being right, and certainly not making sense) on the rest of society to the point where it actually is harmful. No reason to treat religion with kid gloves. If something is stupid, may as well call a spade a spade. In TX the religious right was fighting to take critical thought out of the curriculum. Think about that. I know personally I had to realize exactly how stupid my religious beliefs were before I dropped them. And I'm so much better for it.Looking over the thread tho, atheist(or those who comment like one) seem to have something against those who do believe...
Why do insults have to be part of the conversation?
