Whats the appeal of the soulsbourne genre?

There have been so many swagger jackers trying to imitate the FS vision but they don't got the fervor for this game quasi art s***. Some of them are actually decent :ehh: but why would I deal with a clone when I got the genuine McCoy to play? Never will pay for an imitation piece again

Tangentially related to the thread, but I recently beat "Nioh" 1 & 2.

2 is way easier than 1. That Burst Counter or whatever it's called trivializes most things.

They're cool 7.5 games. Nothing crazy but they're fun.

They're cool 7.5 games. Nothing crazy but they're fun.

I have a soft spot for nioh 2, it can get addicting but in a diablo grind for gear type of way. the higher difficulties are pure cheesy nonsense unless you play and build optimally.

if you don't plan on doing that or don't find that type of thing enjoyable yeah they like 7/10 games.

The boss/enemy abilities make it a lot easier also
