Whatever happens in games 4-7, can we agree ANALYTICS has proven to be FALSE?

Steve ker has NONE.

Though not in the NBA Blatt has a lot of experience and success. That's why he was hired. Don't know why that wouldn't be credible.
Don't be dense. People have been saying all year that Blatt was in over his head. Now suddenly he's the wise elder out there. Your argument has been dismantled. Just leave it be.

"People have been saying" is your argument?

And you say my argument has been dismantled?:mjlol:

Nah the proof is on the court. We see who's keeping their composure and who isn't.

Yeah Tristan Thompson, Dellevadova, Mozgov, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, Shumpert, JR Smith have all logged tons of playoff minutes. Their experience really showed during this run.
:snoop:

Look at the leader/best player on the Cavaliers. His experience and ball dominance is basically eliminating a lot of the chances for his inexperienced teammates to fukk up. Golden State has no one like that, not even a veteran off of the bench that could talk to them about the situation even if he's not playing. And don't think its a coincidence LeBron put Mike Miller in at the end of the game to throw the inbounds pass,'or that James Jones has been more prevelant during the last few games. Experience means something.

You should read the rest of the thread before responding.

My response is to the idea that Cleveland is winning these games because of their edge in playoff experience, which is both stupid and an amazing reversal on the prevailing narrative going into the playoffs.

I swear people's memory resets on this stuff about every two weeks.

If you think LeBron's experience has nothing to do with why these games have been played the way they've been played then I don't know what to tell you. And the experience of his teammates doesn't matter much because he's essentially taking away most of their opportunities to make mistakes.

I like how people have already decided the cavs have won the series.

Thread is dumb. I've been watching basketball for like 14 years. Keyword 'watching'. They come with these bs stats and analystics every year claiming that his team is this or this player is that, but me or anyone else I know pays that bullshyt no mind.

Analytics is fine. My problem was people claiming the Warriors are one of the best teams ever because of analytics.:mjlol:

But they were one of the best regular season teams ever :yeshrug:

What is with the people on here thinking that those that support analytics don't watch games?

There isn't a single person I've come across that supports analytics that thinks stats are more important than watching games. Watching games will always be the most important way to evaluate talent.

I think playoff experience does have value, but it's a weird thing to bring up in this case. Unless I'm missing someone obvious, the only Cavs players getting minutes who have significant playoff experience are LeBron, James Jones, and Mike Miller.

No team has won an NBA Finals since :mjpls: in 91 with no players on the roster having previously played in a NBA Finals. I don't think it's something that should be dismissed outright.

Well that's not really that surprising considering 94% of teams that have made the Finals since then didn't have no players on the roster with Finals experience.

The Warriors are the first team in 18 years to have made the Finals without anyone with Finals experience on the roster.

Its :heh: how stats ppl get mad at "conventional" basketball ppl for shytting on them, while they too ignore conventional basketball wisdom and rely solely on numbers.

Neither one of them applies context :smh:

Like I've always said, people who rely solely on the "eye test" are just as stubborn as those who rely solely on stats. Most people I've come across who support analytics aren't like that but I know there's some out there.

There's nothing wrong with watching as many games as you can and also using statistics. That's what the smartest NBA fans I know do :manny:

So. Much. Stupid. In. This. Thread.

It's two wins for the Cavs, one win for the Warriors. That doesn't prove anything about anything. We're talking TWO wins.

I'm sure people using the "eye test" predicted that Delly would be the #2 option on a team leading in the Finals, right? :russ:

Did ya'all already forget how 4 of the top 5 three-point shooting teams made the conference Finals, just a couple weeks after Phil Jackson's very ill-timed "NBA analysts give me some diagnostics on how 3pt oriented teams are faring this playoffs...seriously, how's it going?" tweet?

If you could use analytics to predict the exact winner of every game, you would be a billionaire. If you could use the eye test to predict the exact winner of every game, same thing. What Lebron's doing right now is ridiculous, and unprecedented, and it doesn't say anything about any method of analyzing teams.
