Nah breh English Acadamies are absolutely terrible at developing talent for the long term, the recurring theme of English football is some homegrown talent has an incredible season but because of either incompetence by the higher ups or succumbing to the pressure they always fall short.
For the past almost 20 years the best and most talented players in the premier league have always been foreign.

Rashford is doing good but they will fukk him up and he will end up being another Danny welbeck.

Imo Sturridge and Sterling were definitely going to be world class, but their own respective career choices fukked them up.

They are absolutely terrible at giving their youth players a chance not developing the talent. I would think you were correct but teams like Spurs and Southampton are bucking that trend, even Man City at one point looked like it was going to become an elite academy (it still might be but they need to bring through their youth) - we need more managers willing to give English players a chance. Tottenham are doing it and it's paying off, Southampton are doing it and it's PAYING off.

He was aight when he was young. he never developed or lived up to the expectations, but he was legit good when he first started getting tick in the us. i almost think he just finessed the whole soccer thing in order to get US citizenship cause in all his interviews it seemed like his main motivation was getting his fam over here. and that was the reason why he didn't just try to develop in the ghanian system.

that being said i met dude in rumors in philly couple years ago. he was in VIP buying bottles and stunting. i was with some nigerian and ghanian charlies and one of the dudes in our group knew him. he gave some of us a ride in his silver Q7 after the let out. i remember thinking how little and normal looking he was. he was probably the shortest out of all of us, but you could tell he was in shape.

i think the partying may have been his downfall. dude was like the soccer version of AI. ppl i know were always seeing him in rumors, green room, walnut room, trilogy clubbing back then

It was his biggest problem, dude was addicted to the nightlife and had his best success when he was in a place with no nightlife. Now he's a vet with no green light and he's seeing how hard pro soccer really is. Thankfully, he's at a level where technically, he's superior so this is like a 2nd chance for him.

I thought most of those players on that under 20 team were going to be special :francis:

They all flopped except for Jozy and Bradley
There team was good they beat pato led brazil but lost to austria in QF. I was watching live at bmo field the usa - uruguay game..it was intense cause bradley scored that extra time and cause it ended in a brawl suarez and his teammates started the fights shyt was funny

One player i thought would do well in europe was danny szetela

Premier League is the greatest and most competitive league in world football. It isn't dominated by any one team or a couple of teams like La Liga, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1. Teams in the bottom 3 can beat teams chasing for the title and not get trounced 11-0 like they do in Spain or France. But we're digressing here, fact of the matter is the Utd academy is amongst the elite in world football. I would be interested to see teams like Barcelona perform in the premier league week in and week out and see if there's a correlation with their European performance. Will all due respect, playing a team like West Ham and Rayo Vallecano are 2 different animals.

The Ajax, Barca and Bayern academies are probably better and I didn't say they weren't but to say that the academy is a joke is doing it a disservice. That is a crazy opinion breh

Yall really need to stop with this bullshyt. Barcelona would DESTORY every team in the league. They routinely beat english teams with ease in the CL but would struggle with teams like West Ham and Stoke aye! :rudy:

Suarez killed nikkas in the PL and he aint even the best forward at Barca :laff:

Get the fukk outta here :camby:

It is but you have to remember Barca press at a higher intensity than most teams in the world themselves. The only english team theyve had real trouble with in the past was chelsea when they played defensive/on the counter but even those barca teams arent as good as this one. They would win it the premier league with ease imo

Man united is a moronic club. They dont even have a top academy. They bought a player once without ever seeing him play! They are a marketing machine and they make a lot of money, they saw him as a means to break into american markets nothing more.
I hate to :cape: for Man U cos fukk 'em :pacspit: but their academy is anything but trash. Birthed Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, Butt Neville brothers with 2nd strings stars like O'Shea, Fletcher, Evans, Brown etc amongst many others, backbone of their most successful era and the England team for the best part of a decade.

We talking about an out and out forward? Suarez is the best forward at Barca :mjlol: Look at the stats :yeshrug:

Messi aint a forward, Messi is Messi. Neymar is more of a SS than a complete forward at this point of his career. Oh and FYI, Neymar would need to put on weight before he can do anything in the PL.

Hmmm maybe? We have a much more taxing league, and the standard of football throughout the league is much higher. I'm not saying they wouldn't ball the fukk out but there's a massive difference between playing in a league where your opposition for the most part is sub-standard and a league where the teams you play are spending 15mil+ on their players. Stoke, Southampton, Everton, Leicester, Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham, I could go on. There really isn't an easy game in this league anymore (aside from Aston Villa :lolbron:). There is a gulf in quality between Barca and Bayern but for the most part the Prem is better.

I know wat you mean but the gulf in quality between Barcelona and pretty much most other teams in Europe is huge. This is a legendary team, somehow even better than Guardiola's barcelona you could argue the bottom half of the league is better but still Barcelona would run away with the league imo :ld:
