Nah breh English Acadamies are absolutely terrible at developing talent for the long term, the recurring theme of English football is some homegrown talent has an incredible season but because of either incompetence by the higher ups or succumbing to the pressure they always fall short.
For the past almost 20 years the best and most talented players in the premier league have always been foreign.
Rashford is doing good but they will fukk him up and he will end up being another Danny welbeck.
Imo Sturridge and Sterling were definitely going to be world class, but their own respective career choices fukked them up.
They are absolutely terrible at giving their youth players a chance not developing the talent. I would think you were correct but teams like Spurs and Southampton are bucking that trend, even Man City at one point looked like it was going to become an elite academy (it still might be but they need to bring through their youth) - we need more managers willing to give English players a chance. Tottenham are doing it and it's paying off, Southampton are doing it and it's PAYING off.
