What would be your scheme to gameplan for Lamar Jackson?

Jim Johnson scheme that he used against Vick in the NFC championship game 04.

Johnson built strong game plans when he felt the opponent needed something special. The best example of that is the NFC Championship Game against the Falcons after the 2004 season. Johnson was at his best attacking passing quarterbacks, but Michael Vick and the Falcons were all about running the ball.

Johnson came up with a simple, but brilliant, twist. He moved Kearse from left end to right end and flipped Derrick Burgess to the left side. Vick was a left-handed quarterback and was at his best when he took off running to his left (the right side of the defense). Having an athlete like Kearse at right end took away Vick's advantage. Most defensive ends stood no chance going against Vick, but Kearse was called The Freak for a reason.

Zone up and force him to dink and dunk down the field and pray that you can hold them to 3 while you score 7

manning up is suicide
Any QB that can scramble can pick apart zone defense because the gaps will open up in zone..

I remember a gm between the colts and niners when Kap was the qb and gore was the rb. They essentially hit kap every play. Especially plays where they did that option shyt and he handed it off. It got to the point where he didn't want to keep the ball and just wanted to call regular run plays. I think the rule is u can hit the qb when they run that option shyt. Regardless if he has the ball or not. I would do that.

The Steelers defense did the best of any against him this year

This.

Start with a Minkah Fitzpatrick. You need elite talent to handle elite talent.

If we're just talking scheme I would hope it's raining on a natural grass field, attack the mesh point on runs, and sit in zones on obvious pass downs so I can have the entire defense spying on him/watching the ball because he has to throw to people not spots yet. I'd also shift a safety to Andrews.

I don't know why defensive coordinators don't attack the mesh point. Waiting allows him to dictate it. If he gets hit enough times Roman will stop calling read zones.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Easy

on those option runs send the defender right into Jackson every time

Ingram will beast but oh well but those hits will eventually add up
I'm sure that has been the plan all season long... it hasn't worked out breh

It's actually the same as playing Madden.. You have to have your DEs play the outside to force middle, have a LB spy, play man to man.. Do not blitz, do not play zone...
play man to man on a WR that has 97 speed... We saw how that worked out game 1

This reminds me of Steph Curry and the threads on how to stop him... The answer is the same here... Injure that nikka... fukk it.. You see the Warriors now? They'd still be #1 with Steph and Klay...

Some players, you can't stop.. Period. You just better do some fukk shyt and call it a day, or they are BLAZING your ass

I’m running man to man all game. Those weak ass tight ends and sub par receivers will have to earn it. I’ll coming with that heat every passing down and containing the outside. Hopefully we can stop the rush up the middle and my offense is good enough to score every possession.

Lamar will have to beat me with his legs. But i guarantee we will get enough sucks to punts.a good defense tackle should get enough pressure back there instantly.

Do y’all coli defensive coordinators really think these NFL DC’s haven’t already tried what y’all have said? :russ:

You’re not going to have somebody spy on him because he’ll juke you then outrun you, if you’re too aggressive then they’ll just play action and kill you with the TE’s and Hollywood Brown

Easy get a dude ftom the practice squad to take his knees out the first drive of the game. Accept the penalty / fine that comes with it.
:unimpressed:
This. On opening drive get 4 roughing the passer penalties. Launch at his head. Hit him helmet to helmet full speed. They will have a 7-0 lead but Lamar won’t run anymore

Teams been trying that too. The Ravens have took notice of it. Some ravens players were talking about it on Twitter
