So I'm 25 and been in school since January just getting my basic stuff done.

I haven't been 100% on what I actually want to do for the rest of my life and time isn't slowing down so I really need to get on track and figure it out.

I WAS thinking about getting a degree in business, not because I have a passion for it or anything, but because it seems more applicable in the real world

Now

Im considering a degree in psychology, it's something that always has been a HUGE interest to me BUT I'm already 25 and feel like it might be too late to get involved in all that.. Plus my girl who is planning on going to med school said there really aren't a lot of careers out there for that major, yet it's something I could see myself being passionate about

Am I too old to start this now though?

What else are your thoughts on it?

Nope, you are not 40.

You start working with a bachelor's, make a decent salary with a master's, and make big bucks with a doctorate. This is pretty much how it goes.

Go to your school's career center and psyche dept to get more info, because people gonna troll you on here.

neither one. technology. become a software application developer or something.
You could get a cert then make money while you finish the rest of your education.
If you don't think you can code.. get into networks or computer security.

Or get into pharmacy.

If your good at math, why not get a finicial related degree and become CPA certified?

I would only do the psychology degree if you plan on getting a master's degree or higher, there aren't many psychology-related jobs you can get with only a Bachelors.

If you don't plan on going past your bachelors, business is probably a safer bet in terms of finding a job.

If you're good at math and you aren't getting a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm horrible at math, yet I'm not sure if it's due to me getting frustrated at a young age and not pushing myself or.... I'm just not good at it..

Business is a great choice but any that interest you (like psychology) will do. I have a STEM degree (engineering) and I know this forum has a hard-on for STEM but again, any degree will do - seriously. Even if you never use anything you learn, holding a degree will provide career opportunities that didn't exist before. It probably won't be your dream career but whatever door it opens you will eat good enough to support yourself. After the degree, your personality and hustle>>>anything you learned in college.

Just make sure its a cheap degree (public college/university) and after you pick a major, stick to it and follow through. Don't go changing it half-way in the process. Finish even if you hate it.

You should also look into trade(electrician) or licensure/certification courses in health care (like EMT etc.), IT or business(series 6, 63, 65, 66, 7) if you don't want to do the 4 year thing.

Maybe try IT on the side. There is a IT sticky thread at the top of the forum. Your BA degree is good for marketing yourself. You won't learn a trade, but it will make your overall resume more marketable.

If its something you feel that you will enjoy, then go with psychology and work your ass off in that major to realise your goals.

You will feel much more content and happy within yourself, long term, than if you just took a business course.

You're going to have to make a lot of sacrifices, to reach the top. As you said yourself, jobs are scarce. Be prepared.

Good luck with it, breh.
