I'm getting 'hoe ready' for summer. I'm tall with a slim physique but the negative is being low key skinny fat but looking great with clothes on :francis:

I'm in the gym 6 times I week. And my diet isn't terrible but I'm still not toned up.

I need something to get me over the hill so I can look good with my top of. :wow:

I still don’t got it :wow:

But I’m steadily following a calisthenics program now that should get me there by the end of the year/this time next year. :wow:

I eat oats for breakfast, grilled chicken for dinner. I drink water mostly.

Workout wise mainly weight training, total body. I do push up and light weights at home. Cardio twice a week at most.

Yeah sounds like you need to put on more muscle. that's usually a big part of being skinny fat.Tough to critique your program without seeing it. hopefully you are doing more bodybuilding exercises with reps in the upper range (8-12) .I don't fukk with full body but it works for some people. Also cut carbs where you can

What's your current routine and diet? If you're just winging it then you're settinf yourself up for failure. Get a solid plan in place and follow it.

Have you ever followed a specific routine? How long have you been lifting? If you're a beginner I would suggest Strong Lifts 5x5 program. Once you develop a decent amount of strength, you can switch to the Madcow version, or an intermediate like PHAT or 531. Also, get your diet in check. The only way you're going to really reach your goal is if you have a plan for both.

Is this gonna get me ripped or make me big and bulky because I have a slow metabolism (was fat as a kid). I'm tryna look cut like Chad cinco with naturally more mass.

I followed a program I found here based on compound exercises, military press, sqauts, bench and etc. That got me pretty decent. And I followed Hoe Ready last summer.

I been lifting since 2014.

I appreciate the advice, I'm gonna follow this. Any tips on a good program for diet?

Since you been lifting for a while I would do PHAT. It's a good mixture of compound and accessory movements. I don't believe in diet routines, I believe in lifestyle changes. Follow the guide that @MMS put together in the sticky. Cutting is really not that complicated. People just overthink it and make it harder than it needs to be. Here is a simple meal plan that I modify based on if I'm cutting or bulking:

Meal #1
2 whole eggs
5 servings of liquid egg whites (230grams)
40grams of oatmeal (uncooked weight)
1 banana

Meal #2
220 grams of sweet potato (no skin)
10.5 ounces of chicken breast
*green veggies (Usually broccoli or spinach)

Meal #3 (post workout shake)
2 scoops whey protein

Meal #4
10 ounces of Tilapia
150 grams of white rice (cooked weight)
*green veggies (Usually broccoli or spinach)

I would suggest you modify this to suit your needs and for the type of foods you enjoy.

How do you get shredded? Is it mostly diet? I wanna look like that too but I’m not doing something right

first thing to note, if you're trying for a celebrity/athlete body thats ripped, don't bother, gear is on full effect, and you will never achieve that look naturally.

This is the general rule; you can be shredded-natural-lean, big-natural, but you can't be all three. Putting on mass requires caloric surplus, and having a six pack requires a caloric deficit....your body naturally does one or the other, not both...till gear/roids come in. You can gain mass and lose weight on plenty of test. Put simply; muscles eat fat, bigger muscles are allowed by roids, which means you'll be putting on more muscle and eating away at all the fat in your body. This is why when you see someone who kept their six pack and put on more muscle, they're on roids.

A lot of people don't know how the body works, claims of dudes putting on 20lbs of muscle in half a year is bullshyt, its scientifically impossible, and more often its around 5-7lbs. If you want to be shredded naturally, lose a ton of weight and lift heavy, eat less (1500 cal range). You're not gonna get bigger and you will be weaker.
