Dope thread, always love a good Wire discussion.

Corner was dope too, lotta actors are the same (Daniels is a junkie, Lester, Norman, Sydnor, Prop Joe, Landsman, Orlando, Day-Day and some others are in it). shyt is only 5 or 6 episodes too so it's easy to binge on. Super depressing show though, even more so than Wire was.

Avon was actually a good n1gga that was a gangster..The writers went out of their way to show that numerous times.. Him and Omar were cut from the same cloth.. That's why Avon sent his granny a new church crown after the botched hit violated the Sunday truce.. That's why he helped Cutty with the boxing gym and told Slim Charles he was "still a man today" when he wanted to help the community instead of gooning..

Stringer was just in it for self.. If you notice they never showed him having any family or real friends on the show. . He was only loyal to the bottom line... He didn't care about building up the hood although he pretended to.. Dude was like a Paul Castellano type.. He was all about power and appearance..

Marlo was a serial killer but was EXTREMELY perceptive and savvy.. He was always thinking 10 steps ahead which separated him from Joe, Avon and String.. He took the Stringer murder on his jacket without even knowing that Avon had OK'd it.. He just saw the Barksdales as weak and new he would never have to answer for it..

I would be curious to see a prequel with a young Marlo.. I can almost garuntee he had some serious physical or even sexual abuse in his childhood.. He was a sadist.. Avon was just a family man that was raised by n1ggas in the game with strong morals...
