It does the least for you for at those amounts. Not growing at all. You can get WAY more out of the bulk of that by doing other things with it. Keep maybe 30k or so on hand liquid for emergencies
Update:Approximately $56,000, plus my house is paid in full.
I have some jewelry I inherited, and one-piece is super valuable. The other pieces are priceless, and our family doesn't want to lose them in a fire or flood (like my great grandmother’s pearl bracelet she purchased on a trip to San Francisco in 1930. She'd never left Oklahoma and was the only black student allowed On the trip). My engagement ring is worth about $12,000, and my wedding band is worth $2,000. I've thought about selling them, but the engagement ring was a family heirloom of my ex’s, and his mother and aunts gave it to me after our first date when I was in high school (years before we got back together as adults ). He's remarried twice and I offered to give the ring back both times but he (and his mother, really) say no. I'm sure he’ll be married again soon.Just curious. Does anyone else use safe deposit boxes?
