Its the lack of exercising/anything that takes a lot of effort...

Nobody spends time outside anymore. . Kids staying inside playing videogames all day long (adults too) pure lazyness.. everyone has access to everything by the push of a button on your cell phone

eating good is a past-time down there.

it could be chilly October night, and somebody is hosting a barbeque for Monday night football.

I gain weight everytime I visit. especially when I was living down there. you just get an urge to eat. come back home and people think im working out.

and I wasn't inactive. I played either basketball or tennis like every other day. but yea, I was less active physically than I am on the east coast.
