What is overacting? Post examples

I don't know if it's overacting or just bad acting.Didn't realize it when i was younger but that little boy is horrible.

Had a facebook debate with someone I worked with, and he kept on using overacting...in fact in just about every show/movie i've asked him about that he doesn't like he mentions "overacting" but yet doesn't give examples.

Doubt he knows wtf it means...I mean i'm not even sure I do...

What are some scenes with overacting,and why it's overacted please.
