- Re: Northern Youths
Do you think that Igbos living in the North (who may or may not wish to stay in Nigeria/remain Nigerians) should remain quiet when "youths" threaten to ethnically cleanse the North of Igbos? The only Igbos that raised an outcry about this were traitors like Orji Kalu or Okorocha. IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu simply said that this is how the North treats Igbos and we should leave. Simple. You have it confused, but I'm not surprised.

Moreover, Igbos can live and do business anywhere in the world. Just like how the Chinese or Bengalis can do that. All we want is a country. In the future, we will apply for visas if we want to do business with Fulani herdsmen and Afonjas.

- re: Delta
Half of Delta is Igbo. The Igbo speaking portion of Delta State will join Biafra. Ijaws should have a referendum whether or not they wish to join Biafra. Political self-determination is a right that should be afforded to all peoples. If Ijaws reject Biafra, then they can stay with getting 13 per cent oil deriviation but 100 per cent pollution in Nigeria.

- re: military times/Igbo elites
Most of Nigeria's history is military rule. We have rendered them irrelevant. You're boosting to people who don't know that Igbos will boycott the Anambra election to render the current Igbo political elite obselete.

-re: Kanu

I feel bad for the Yoruba. The Hausa-Fulani killed Abiola and now are pushing out Osinbajo and yet you still want "One Nigeria". What a joke. Kanu spent over a year in prison and did not change his views. He is the most principled person in Nigeria today.

The most esteemed Yoruba leader is that corrupt drug leader Tinubu.

Nigerian Pres’ Svengali Tied to Heroin

I pray for the Yoruba and their Afonja ways.
Exactly. Yourobas will surely be islamacized in whatever is left of this Nigeria. It will be hilarious to see all those yourobas that constantly shyt on igbos to have to deal will hausas on their own.

lol.... its funny how you couldnt refute a single fact i posted , you just posted insults...

when the so called Cabal didnt want johnathon a Yoruba man put him in power .... not an Igbo or Delta man ....

and when it was time to remove him it was a yoruba man that got rid of him

thats the difference .... unlike some we dont just talk and beat our chests

like i said If you are representative of how bitter and angry an Igbo/Biafran is Im glad im not one of you ......

and once again no shade but I really feel sorry for you and your people..... hope it works out

we yorubas are happy , we aint got time for all the anger and noise
Your happy because your dumb and ignorant. Can't wait till Biafra occurs so overly confident Afonjas like yourself will have to deal with the wrath of these Hausas solo.

There are a lot of lies in your post. Not surprising.

1 - Awolowo and others such as Fela Kuti's mother were in London too pushing for an independent Nigeria. In fact, the centre of Nigerian nationalism/independence movement was in Lagos. Stop lying.
2 - The first coup was not an "Igbo coup". Patrick 'Kaduna' Nzeogwu saw himself as a Nigerian nationalist. Not an Igbo nationalist. He was born in the North and didn't speak Igbo. Hence the nickname, 'Kaduna'. Michael Okpara, premier of the Eastern Region, narrowly escaped assassination in the January Coup of 1966. It wasn't an Igbo plot. Stop lying.
3 - Igboland has coal, natural gas and oil. Yes, oil!. There's oil in Northern Delta state (which is predominatly Igbo - I'm from there), Imo, Abia and Ebonyi. Again, stop lying.

Igbos didn't create Nigeria. The British did.
:mjlol:

Where are the lies? You're a propagandist and you're being economical with the truth. Do you believe anyone with functioning brain cells would believe everything you posted on this thread that Igbos, a group with almost 40 million people, is being bullied/killed by another group with almost same people, for no reason and Igbos are as clean as snow? Unless Igbos are weaklings, the narrative is incredulous. There's a reason why I also quoted an Igbo elite and not anyone from the other groups.

1). Yes, I never denied the fact that Yorubas were the first to push for independence and the independent movement was started by Yorubas. Also, the anti-colonial movement in Africa was started by two Yorubas, Ladipo Solanke and Herbert Bankole-Bright, in 1925, with the WASU project (read about it here: History of WASU - The WASU Project). However, Yorubas were also pushing for an independent Yoruba country and not the colonial Nigerian arrangement, hence Yorubas under Awolowo voted against colonial Nigerian set-up - while Igbos, under Azikwe voted with Fulanis for Nigeria. These are facts and when I've time, I'll post the colonial documents and audios of Awolowo, Azikwe, and Bello.

2). Stop lying: Nzeogwu joined the coup towards the end and the only reason he gained notoriety is because he was the one who killed Ahmadu Bello, the leader of the Fulanis, who was viewed as a demi-god by Fulanis. The coup's mastermind was Azikwe's cousin, Emeka Ifeajuna, and it was sponsored by Ojukwu's father.

How can you even argue that it wasn't an Igbo coup when 99% of the coup plotters were Igbos and all those killed were the leaders of all the other ethnic groups. But miraculously, no Igbo leader was killed. Where they do that at? Those killed in the coup: Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh (Urhobo), Brigadier Maimalari (Fulani), Abubakar Balewa (Fulani), Ahmadu Bello (Fulani), Col. Kur Mohammed (Fulani), Col. Shodeinde (Yoruba), Ladoke Akintola (Yoruba), Brig. Samuel Ademulegun (Yoruba), etc. After the coup, Igbos didn't stop there, many Igbo civilians in the North were rejoicing and taunting Fulanis with pictures of Nzeogwu (Igbo) standing over the corpse of Ahmadu Bello, who was a demi-god to Fulanis. So, it wan't shocking that they went on a killing spree of Igbos.

Also, the way the highest ranking Yoruba officer, Brig. Samuel Ademulegun, and his pregnant wife were killed has to be the most barbaric thing ever done to a pregnant woman. After killing the both of them - they sliced open the pregnant belly of his wife and also killed the unborn seed. Igbos are lucky Yorubas didn't go on a killing spree of Igbos after that.

3). I was alluding to the resources Nigeria gets most of its FOREX from. Yes, Igbos have tiny drops of oil and some non-viable resources, just as Yorubas have tiny drops of oil in Ondo/Lagos and non-viable resources like gold, bitumen, and limestone. However, the bulk of Nigeria's oil comes for Delta South, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom. And none of the enclaves are Igbo. Delta South is Itsekiri, Ijaw, and Urhobo/Isoko. Bayelsa is Ijaw. Rivers is Ijaw, Ogoni, and a host of other minorities. Akwa Ibom is Ibibio, Annang, and other minorities.

Igbos had the opportunity to opt out of Nigeria in 1957, at the London conference, with the Yorubas. However, they voted with the Fulanis against Yorubas. And even when Yorubas asked for an opt out clause - Igbos again voted against that. So, you voted for what Nigeria became and you can't wake up and tell people you want to leave the mess you voted for, and expect them to follow you. You've to fight your way out of it.

So do yorubas want an independent yorubaland too?

Yorubas have always wanted an independent country. However, after they were denied in 1957 by the collusion of Igbos and Fulanis, they've been careful about the way they go about it. To understand Yorubas: Yorubas are very meticulous and careful with every decision they make. They'll do risk analysis, in context of losses, before making a move.

Nigeria is a very funny and complex country. You'd be shocked that the same Igbos who're clamoring for Biafra are the ones who've always aligned with Fulanis politically against Yorubas. I think this current government is the first time in the history of Nigeria, where Yorubas and Fulanis got into a political alliance. Prior to this one, Yorubas have always been contented playing opposition with their own political party, while ruling their own part of the country.

Yorubas could easily declare an independent country since they own Lagos, which is the economic capital and the heart/soul of Nigeria, and cripple the country. However, they'll never do that because they know Igbos and Fulanis would form a coalition to annihilate Yorubas and destroy all the infrastructures that they've labored to build. So, they would rather sit it out and watch from the sidelines...and if Igbos manage to get the upper-hand or there's a stalemate, they won't mind supporting Igbos to tilt the balance in favor of freedom from Nigeria.

Yorubas actually hate the Fulanis more than Igbos and have been fighting wars against them way before Nigeria was colonized.

Yes. He was a Yoruba general who betrayed the interests of his own people and the greatest state in Yoruba history (the Oyo Empire) to gain favour with Fulani jihadists.
:francis:

Don't worry about Yorubas, after Afonja, Yorubas have defeated Fulanis twice - Jalumi war (1878) and Oshogbo war (1840) - in their quest to bring jihad to Yoruba enclave. Defeating them again wont be a problem.

Yorubas have never lost a war to any West African group: they defeated Akan/Ashanti Kingdom (Ghana) in the Battle of Atakpame (1764) and Dahomey was a Yoruba vassal state. So, they know how to deal with all West African groups.

The misconception is that Fulanis brought Islam to Yorubas. However, nothing is farther from the truth than that. Islam came to Yorubas via trading with Mali and Songhay. And the first mosque in what's known today as Nigeria, was built in Oyo empire and, that was before Fulanis brought Islam to Northern Nigeria.

Yorubas aren't worried about Fulanis, they're the easiest to defeat and they'll suffer another devastating defeat.

This is nonsense. There will never be a situation where Fulanis and Igbos will ever collaborate. You sound delusional.

Israel population = 8 million
Denmark population = 6 million
Venezuela population = 30 million
Igbos alone in Nigeria = 36 million

i see no reason why biafra can't become its own power house when we literally have double even triple the amount of people these other nations have

Israel is supported by US, who will support Biafra
Denmark has the backing of the EU and NATO

Venezuela is the worst example to use right now

Apart from the Independence conference in London (1957) which I referenced, where Igbos voted with Fulanis, against Yorubas, for Nigeria. I'll reference the elections in Nigeria from independence.

1959: NPC (Fulani party) and NCNC (Igbo party with an Igbo leader) formed a coalition government against AG (a Yoruba party).

1964: NPC (Fulani party) and NCNC (Igbo party with an Igbo leader) formed a coalition government against AG (a Yoruba party).

1979: NPN (Fulani president and Igbo vice president) vs UPN (a Yoruba party).

1983: NPN (Fulani president and Igbo vice president) vs UPN (a Yoruba party).

Igbos and Fulanis have always been political allies.

An aunt of mine lost 6 of her 8 children in that first war

A man who has seen the tragedy war will never call for it
:mjcry: my condolences goes to your aunt man. Tribal warfare is no joke and I will always stand with my viewpoint that war should be the LAST RESORT.
