And the genres people in here are saying"is are taking over" all borrow heavily from rap and hip hop culture-Afrobeats,spanish music etcBlues, House, Jazz, Soul, and R&B probably will comeback, because they never really left. It's just that rap and hip-hop overshadowed them for awhile.
Funk, Soul, and R&B were interchangeable back in the day, especially Soul and R&B. And Funk was the Rock and Roll of Soul. Soul was just Black music, and every Black age group listened to the same sounds for the most part. That's probably what we will be going back to, hopefully. A lot of rap was a spinoff of Soul, R&B, and Funk. They used a lot of it, beginning with Funk. And the originators of Funk, like George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelics, never got paid. The Funkadelics weren't into who had copyrights, etc... They were more concerned with making sounds for the people. A lot of rap used R&B too. I'm sure everybody is aware of that, for example Kanye, Jayzee, etc...
gospelSounds like another generation is just aging out. They're about to come to the same realization that US Gen X'ers had once we got to 30+. The music ain't for you anymore and you're probably moving up in your Job/Careers and starting families and hearing "fukk bytches get money kill nikkas its funny" might not really appeal to you anymore. Just stick with YOUR classics and it'll never really die. Or expand your ears and move on its really that simple.
We did though. They would be nothing without black culture, black pop culture.Black people didn't make the Kardashians. Cacs did.
As for rap, that K-pop stuff which is basically a mismash of dance/r&b/pop/hip hop with a korean face is taking over the world.
Old reggae riddims b*stardized by non-black LatinosWhat’s replacing it
Hispanics got next. You may also see Black people lose value in pop culture
Good fukking riddance! It's dying bc it's fuking trash. Mufuggas just don't want to admit itYeah Rap is dying definitely
Dudes not paying attentionHispanics got next.
get ready for 10 different genres that all sound like reaggaton to take over.

Dababy was never in the runningThat might’ve been true in 2016.
There hasn’t been a genuine superstar hip hop artist in at least 6 years that’s still alive. Lil Baby almost had it then released a dud album. Gunna had it then snitched on his crew. Thug never transcended like that but he might be done legally. Drugs messed Kodak up. Meg don’t sell records. Dababy done. Pop Smoke dead. Juicewrld dead. Xxx dead.
The only new gen doing it right are Tyler, Uzi and Travis. And they all debuted close to 10 years ago. Maybe a lil later for Uzi.
I was out recently at a young nikka party. They boo’d theDj when he played modern rap. They just wanted Afrobeats.
In my age bracket it’s throwbacks, Afrobeats and amapiano
