What happened to Rock is slowly happening to Rap. You are seeing the beginning of Rap no longer being the dominant genre in music

We said this during the snap pop, chicken noodle soup phase.
Yeah but in the middle of that we had peak Wayne, peak Kanye, Jay came out of retirement, Lupe was the new lyricist , 50 was still a star, Game was popping. Drake, Cole and Kendrick were in the early stages of their mixtape scene. I still think that’s the worst era of mainstream rap but this late 2010s early 2020’s coming close to passing it

You may also see Black people lose value in pop culture

American* black people. Africans are the vanguard of popular music right now, and I say this as an American. I love it because I fukk with both Amapiano and Afrobeats more generally heavy.

How about actual bands. Classic Soul type music.

I'd like that world. Where real music is being made by people. Of course I'd want real MCs to find some space in there somewhere.

I said this 1000 times before. Brehs need to pick up the instruments again. Drums, brass, strings.

Acoustic/Analog rebirth.

But ppl don't play instruments anymore, and I don't see that improving with AI.

Most mainstream rappers these days all got trash lyrics. People want to play music they can dance to and have kids around. Can't do that with murder music.

Good :manny:

Blues, House, Jazz, Funk, Soul, pre-80s r&b...plenty of other Black genres that sound better and actually move me can have a chance at a resurgence
The bolded have been "all lives mattered". According to white, asians, and latinos... those are not black genres that we created.

Not in America

I'm guessing Afrobeats is state by state bias

Down here, dudes play local music more than anything
