I mean we still had rappers speak on stuff, Lupe was schooling everyone on a Skylar Grey type track too to blend the message. Eminem gave a freestyle dissing Trump and even dissed Bush back in 04. Papoose was rapping against the NYPD for shooting Sean Bell. Some of these songs go unnoticed. These are the songs I kept up with during some events that went thru.

Nope......I don't believe that. Industries will flood markets with a particular product limiting customers choices. Then turn around and say they are giving what to market asked for. For example, there are a lot of new car features no one asked. Yet customers asked for new cars to come with a spare tire and the industry is like...........nah........you don't need it.

Doesn't help the fact that they also invested private stocks for the imprisonment of black people, and they the reason why now they got rappers signing death contracts and taking life insurance policy on them.

Most conscious rap was always smart dumb nikka shyt anyway.
A lot of these dudes can't even articulate their thoughts well and rap is a medium that's too wordy to stay consistent, nikkas end up talking in circles and contradicting themselves in the same song because being politically aware takes understanding nuance and history. You gotta be well read to speak on this shyt intelligently.
You actually get more out of the mainstream artist that says something profound every once in a while than some of these try hard nikkas.
