On some real shyt though?
If the director understands the genre emotionally? Any kind of flick can be dope
it's just too many cats trying to do their version of their favorite movie growing up, w/out really "getting" what made the flick work,
so we get a ton of weak photocopy results that make you hate the genre
either that or the suits get involved after one flick is a success, and ruin a franchise/ flood the market w/ straight bullshyt imitation flicks
Funny enough hip-hop has the same problem...
