Head the business insurance division on an independent agency. Being management has its pro's and con's, however, I do love this job and I'll probably retire doing it.

not really though. although sometimes i feel like that's all people see when they see me up there. 
I work in a hospital in finance, pay is OK, feels weird sometimes being around people sick or dying or giving birth. But you see different ppl every day, job is secure

I develop healthcare enterprise solutions, right now we are working on a project for medicare. I love what I do, as a child I always enjoyed taking things apart and putting them together in new ways. I enjoy solving problems.
However, I HATE medicare. They are essentially changing the way they pay for healthcare but are making it up as they go along. They start programs, scrap them, create more problems, create another acronymed XYZ program with vague objectives, etc. In particular I'm trying to create predictive models, but it is impossible to quantify outcomes when the variables are constantly changed on the fly.

This makes no sense. Mass transit is very important in a metro area.

I love the study of the mind in action, understanding human behavior and helping people. Great job, great pay..no work life balance since I'm working for a hospital on call a lot but I love it.

Yes. I had dreams of being a programmer since I was 15. Even after dropping out of high school, I still knew one day I would become a programmer. I seriously cannot see myself doing anything else.
I'm completely self-taugh. No schooling.
I am also self taught but how does a self taught programmer go about getting the first job with no experience or degree?
