Not talking about symbolic victories or powerful statements, what did ALL of us benefit from their "work".

And I'm asking seriously, not to be critical or hateful - I'd like to get a dialogue going if possible.

From my viewpoint, they seem to have enriched themselves and furthered the democratic party's political agenda by ensuring the black vote - so other than this? :francis:

My people's used to call them "Pilgrims for Profit" and "Crusaders for Cash"...
I know personally, in the 90s Al used to charge 15-20k to come and protest if your cause didn't have enough media attention. If it did, he would try to thrust himself into the center and dictate payouts if there were any to be had

Neither one of them has a MLK like victory. Nor has either one of them, IMO, has spoken truth to power like Malcolm X or Louis Farrakhan. But they both have seem to keep the issues of black folk from being dismissed or swept under the rug. Forcing officials to deal with those issues.

What did MLK accomplish other than help break up black solidarity by having us assimilate/integrate with cacs?

what do you mean by the :camby:?

I mean it's obvious they both have fell way back over the last 10yrs.

I have my guess as to why. But it doesn't matter at this point
We all are well aware they fell back years ago.
You're stating the obvious like you were dropping knowledge or something

:patrice: That’s the point of my question, their days are clearly behind them

So what did they actually accomplish?

They made themselves and some people money :manny:

For the black community.. not a god damn thing was accomplished. But that's par for the course
