What cause the disappearance of black female singing superstars?

I was watching old youtube videos of 80s singers and i notice that black women were well represented. Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s i remember he had a wide wange of black female singers, but it appears that we're stuck with two beyonce and rihanna. What i find odd is some biggest selling artist are black women, but yet here we are in this modern era with only two.

I don't really think that's true considering an artist such as Whitney Houston sold more records then beyonce yet the power that be did not limit other black female artist.

Yet an artist like bruno mars can get hits with clasic r&b sound and don't get me started on adele. Even without going through r&b black female singers were still represented in pop. I think it's bigger then beyonce.

Beyonce is more of an entertainer tbh


Her singing is slightly better than average, there is for sure no Aretha Franklins, Patti LaBelles or Whitney Houstons walking through that door.

This isn't about a lack of talent, it's about record companies weaponizing their artists to crush competition and the fans have bought it hook, line and sinker.

This is the reason there's a "beehive" and "Rihanna navy" and why the two groups are pitted against each other. This only benefits the record companies.
