BP definitely wasn't a lyrical display, but he did shine at times (Renegade & Lyrical Exercise in particular). I see Ether as the real turning point. You listen to BP and hear that untouchable confidence, but the post Ether albums really start to sound insecure. His delivery really started to deteriorate after that point too.

I feel you but he did get murdered on renegade...

The only jay-z music I fukk with is pre 2000... pre that scandalous roc-la-familia bullshyt...

Thats to me when he was on top n he was still sellin more than he is now

i know a lot of people like this album but i remember getting a dub off a mate who just bought the cd, chucking it in my walkman & being disappointed. something about the beats i think just didn't sit well with me, i preferred the grimier style on the 1st album. i should go back and give it a fair go tho

i don't know why yall are sh*ttin on Lupe's "Lasers" album, I guess cuz i copped it during spring break 2011 and it has memories on my end

the one that disappointed the most has to be Redman's last two albums... it's like what happened??

Recently disappointing for me was Magna Carta, Holey Frail. People were gassing it up, Jay was talking about dualities, with Yeezus and WTT I thought Jay was gonna stick to that sound and spit those kind of bars throughout. I listen to it and it's one of the worst, disgenuine, fake-ass projects I've ever heard. shyt was absolute trash aside from 2-3 songs.

Also, Malice's recent album that shyt was absolutely horrible. I thought he could still rap somewhat but his voice sounds weak and frail now
