I know a lot of people like it but when it dropped I thought it was wack

I listened to it again a couple months ago and I still think it's wack

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet but that Four HRSMN album with Killah Priest, Kurupt, Ras Kass, and Canibus was so anticipated but when I finally heard it (off torrents) the shyt was amazingly wack. Struggle rhymes galore with some of the most bizarre hooks and choruses :why:

I came to the conclusion these nikkas musta got "wet" and tried to make an underground classic but fail miserably.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
That time you waited for Nastradamus to come out, paid $14.99 for it, and felt like you needed to like it because it cost money.

The 80s baby no internet struggle was so real.
the gift and the curse.... not the album tho... but what you just described

on one hand.. shyt sucked having to pay money for albums you only heard 2 songs off... and there was a real good chance you'd get stuck with some bullshyt

but on the other hand.. there wasn't any "listen 1 time while doing 30 other things, then throw it in the recycle bin" type of music fans... you listened to an album for weeks and months cause you paid for it.. a lot of times, you learned to love it and appreciate the entire album

canibus was the worst tho!!!!!!!! not cause the album was the worst.. but because this man murdered every single freestyle and guest feature for a year straight... then dropped that nonsense... no one even know he was so scientific and technical... we thought we was getting the battle rap, lyricism filled, fugee beats having album of the century

MF Doom- Born Like This.

Me being a Doom head, when I heard the news that dude was dropping a album in 2009 I shat bricks. So the album drops and my expression was like
raw
.
Meh ass beats, uninspired spittages, and a just plain lazy ass album. After that album it was official...MF Grimm>>>>MF Doom.

Honorable Mention
Krayzie_Bone_-_Thug_On_Da_Line_(Front_Cover).jpg

I REALLY wanted to enjoy this album. It got to the point I duck taped my headphones to my ears and kept convincing myself that ITS GOING TO BE GOOD ITS GOING TO BE GOOD. Probably the last Bone album I have ever copped and honestly checked for....

Encore, Relapse, Recovery, MMLP2...4 stinkers in a row
The W, Iron Flag, 8 Diagrams....Wu as a group is kind of overrated...their last dope project was in 1997.
Amerikkaz Nightmare and Blood Money...wackness from the infamous mobb deep
The New Danger and Tru3 Magic...Mos Def was on some real bullshyt for a minute before he dropped The Estatic
808s and Heartbreaks & Yeezus...terrible albums
Big Pun - Yeahh Baby....terrible follow up to an arguable classic
C True Hollywood Stories....officially put Canibus in the bushes where he belongs
The Game-The Red Album...felt like the album was some bullshyt outside of The City with King Kendrick and Ricky....album officially put The Game in the bushes
Street Hop & Success Is Certain...Royce solo albums been all downhill since Death Is Certain.
Shaolin VS. Wu-Tang...thought Rae was on fire till he put this BS out...wasn't feeling this shyt at all.
The Greatest Story Never Told...ILLmatic my ass boring ass preachy album...Saigon is now irrelevant smh

:whew: you aint lyin there....I bought them when they all came out on some :dj2: shyt when I heard about it....and then gave it a good listen and was left with a :sadbron: look on my face

I liked some of the tracks on Pun's album, NY Giants is one of the hardest tracks ever...album was lackluster tho...I agree there....but I'm not sure if he ever completed the album himself.

EVERY CANIBUS album has been a disappointment imo...they all had a dope track or two....but they just never lived up to his skil level...not even close.

That Rae Shaolin vs Wu Tang had a few tracks...but yeah....it had me on some.........:smh:.......definitely a fall off from OBFCL2 in 2010.

in 2000-2001...when you have 36 Chambers, Tical, ODB's 1st album, OBFCL, GZA's first album and Wu Forever....yes...it felt like a disappointment.

It might sound better now 17 years later now that the disappointment wore off and if I don't compare it to previous records

Yeah I'll agree with you that at the time it was odd but it's aged beautifully
