Its good. The first half is probably a bit better than the second though.

We usually only have 2 choices. A US adaptation that is severely whitewashed, for let the Japanese do it and it looks like medium-level comic-con cosplay.

The reason it rarely if ever will work is b/c of the very nature of anime shows and there being so many characters needing to be introduced to the storyline to make it work. I wont say its impossible to do but the degree of difficulty is staggering. Unless you're MCU and are dedicated to 10+ years of telling your story these one off anime movies are always gonna fail.They should. They just always get handled like trash.
