I went back and read the Hunter x Hunter manga and it does something different from others. Rather than introducing new villains and simply telling us they're many times stronger than the last ones (a la DBZ), they just introduce various villains of different strengths at the same time. Plus the way the nen system works, it's not about power levels and aura all the time. It's about who gets caught off guard by not knowing the other's ability. You fukk up and don't put up a guard fast enough, you are finished. IMO, Kite is about as strong as the bomb devils.

No one you've seen is as strong as anyone in the phantom troupe though. Those nikkas and the Zoldycks are the most powerful we've seen so far. The ants are kind of a plot device to help bring Gon and Killua (who are still very weak) up closer to the beast level. For those of you still thinking the ants are overpowered, I'll give a slight spoiler and say that there are Hunters (and others) out there fully capable of dealing w/these dudes rather easily, they just haven't been introduced yet. This is a Loooong arc.

HxH has been running the game for the last 2 years. Nothing has came close IMO

the ant arc in hxh is long as hell but once that arc ends it's pretty much the end of the anime because the hxh manga is on hiatus or something. damn author is 10x worst than the author for berserk imo.

I've never really been a fan of a show going very plot heavy and a bunch of shyt starts happening that there's no way you can understand cause none of it is explained.

that's been Guilty Crown in a nutshell. its like once it hits episode 10 shyt starts happening that you won't understand until a future plot twist you've yet to see is revealed. they aren't revealing it just marching on with more out of context events.

i see why this show failed. its from the writers of Code Geass and Valvrave but its like a the same general concept as those shows but it takes itself way too serious.

That's a good breakdown of power structures. I was explaining that to my GF when she was wondering why they ain't just call Kurapika to come do damage. Had to explain that because of certain conditions
