I just saw the last episode of Mitchako and Hatchin. The series kind of dragged on after the midpoint. If they took out about 7-8 episodes, it would have improved the series.

Decided to read the LN this morning, and I don't think the episode really went in depth for this, but they were both starving and dehydrating him while sending him in to fight his matches. They also poisoned his food, which is why his mental state was so fukked up and looked half-way dead.
As for what happens next? I can't say much, but the last episode is about to be LIT.

Also, for those watching Asterisk... Ending isn't as lit as Calvary's, but it's perfect for where it splits off. Second cour is confirmed and we're getting Season 2 in April 2016. So that should be fun.
