I'm gonna be honest with you and say that its got like a grand total of 7 (and that's being nice) worthwhile eps and a load of bullshyt between. Show had all the potential in the world. Could've been amazing, ended up merely being a merely 'aite' by the end of it all.

I'm watching a few others but those stick out the most to me

I played the game and fukking loved it. One of my favorite PSP games, easily. So I was on the fence about the show but so far its looking better than I thought. Definitely gonna stick around.
The story for a monster hunt game like that was some of yal gonna be
Spent the last 3/4 months off & on re-watching YuYu Hakusho. Was around 11 when it first aired on Toonami and I didn't really understand what I was watching, but now I can confidently say that it's up there with any shonen I've come across. The peaks of that anime (The entirety of the Dark Tournament Arc, Hiei's past reveal, Yusuke's death, Yusuke's goodbye) is as good as this genre can possibly get, Characterization was strong. Got to watch some boys grow into men & in the case of Hiei/Yusuke figure out what they wanted out of life, always great to see a character progress like that in a work of fiction. OST's perfectly captured the tone of the emotional & most dire scenes, OP/ED's that told a story of their own, more than a few of my favorite dub voices, flawless fighting sequences that don't feel drawn out. Only gripe is the inconsistent animation & some rushed scenes towards the end, but as a whole YYH does damn near everything right. Togashi really is the GOAT when motivated
Now I'm gonna to try to get through the parts of Gintama I skipped around. Might not be done with that until next year
I agree, I think the OG FMA is slightly better cuz of it's overall darker tone later in the series. I look at the ending of the series as a metaphor for how bittersweet life is.
I mean Ed had to kill is own mom (a humonculus that takes her form, but still looks like her nonetheless.
The anime ended with Ed and Al being separated.
I thought making the alchemists who tried to bring people back to life being the source of the humonculi was a very interesting take.
In the Conquer of Shambella movie, Roy spent his life in seclusion and depression cuz he feels responsible for Ed's disappearance.
Exactly. The Homunculus twist in particular added an entirely different dynamic to the anime. People sleep on it b/c the animation doesn't compare & its not canon, but I appreciated how the first FMA strayed away from the cliches and tried to present an authentic, tragic shonen story. I like dark undertones in shonen anime. Thats how it should be, this is a life or death struggle people should be suffering as much as the characters do in that version. To add to that there was also
The death of Scar completing his brothers work which was a far more fitting end for him, which led to the twist of Al becoming the Philosopher's stone itself
Bradley snapping his sons neck like a twig (how often do we see children die in anime?) and Mustang killing him in his own home sooner after
Edward collapsing to his knees and screaming murder out of shock that he'd killed Greed. Killing another being shook him to the core
Entire show had me from start to finish. With Brotherhood I didnt get that same suspense. More closure sure, funnier, more expansive cast of characters, greatest OP/ED selection you'll ever find. I see why some like it more & I don't think they're that far apart anyway, but the number one thing I look for most in anime is how genuine a plot feels & FMA has that over the 2nd version by a good margin imo
Hellsing Ultimate is the best I've seen so far. More of a horror in terms of the sheer gore and a horde of sadistic characters than an actual scary plot though
What's the word with these anime like To Love Ru Darkness? When and where does this, and shows like it, get shown? Are the Japanese lax with nudity (partial and otherwise) on TV? Are kids watching this on Saturday morning the Japanese equivalent of Cap'n Crunch between their teeth? Does it get shown late in the night like soft core pornography in Germany? I have always wondered this but never sought the answer.
Well no matter who the favorite is, one thing we can agree on is that if the MC decides to do the deed with one of them or perhaps have an orgy with them, he could very well die There are worse ways to go out lol
Anyway I just finished Plastic Memories. God damn what an emotional roller coaster this was. I knew this anime was going to have a sad ending but I bawled anyway Isla is just too cute, brehs
