Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Disturbance - Episode 11
Gramps targeting Kenshin's wallet to get him to talk was great. Kenshin's comparison of Misao to Iori actual was a big statement. After all, to Shishio and his men, outside Kenshin and Aoshi I would imagine everyone else seems like ants. Sure, Misao can hold her own unlike Iori, but to a giant, what is the difference between an adult and a baby ant?
It was funny of Kaoru and Misao meeting so suddenly. Though at this point, Kaoru's resolve is past firm. I love that gramps and Misao recognize that.
Still, we finally meet Kenshin's master, Seijuuro Hiko. To think how strong Kenshin is, it makes you wonder what kind of monster Hiko is. Still, his saying on sword is very true because while illustrated previously that it is the swordsman who defines the era, not the swords. At the end of the swords are weapons. Swordsmanship is a means of murder. After Kenshin wouldn't take up his sword hear if there wasn't a threat. Kenshin is living off a lot of his ideals. The catching two hares at the same time leaves you none, symbolizes that Kenshin needs to slow his horse. Though given by the flashback, this isn't new behavior for him.
Hiko last statement is interesting as well. It seems those ideals that Kenshin mentions miss one important thing, that despite protecting the people comes first. It only comes as a free sword, which, as we can see, allying with Saito in his fight against Shishio could create that distortion. I am curious where the talk between him and Kenshin continues.
Though finally, we see Kaoru has finally caught up to Kenshin. Also, I love how Yahiko and Misao went straight in to defend Kenshin.
