Man I knew coming Sengoku Youko was a well respected series, but man this was one of my favorite shows of the season. Great storytelling, great characterization of for a decent sized cast, and just a great show to watch each week. :wow:

This episode was a different type of heartbreaking then losing Shakugan, but man did it deliver. Seriously screw both Yazen and Kuzunoha. Yazen for wanting to manipulate Jinka to think he killed. Kuzunoha for wanting to not go along with, but forcing Tama to see Jinka self-destructing just showcased how terrible of a mother she is.

Big props for Shinsuke. His entire thing was not wanting to be useless, but man delivering the hit on Yazen was satisfying to watch. Seeing Shinsuke down really triggered the inner demon that was developing inside Jinka to where the Mountain Goddess wanted no part of. Tama developing more power thanks to her connection with Jinka and what a beautiful scene, but she wasn't able to get Jinka to snap out of it before Rinzu teleported Shinsuke and Tama back. I don't blame her those two would have died if not for her. Jinka could have snapped out of it, but if he didn't both would have died presumably.

We have the Mountain Goddess having to make use of Senya, The Fledging Demon God.
Damn the rest of this adaptation is going to be amazing to watch when it starts back up in the summer.

Watched the first episode of Bartender: Glass of God, which is a remake of the 2006 anime. This show is purely a SoL, but I digged the first episode. Animation was better than I was expecting. :ehh: This looks like a solid one to watch weekly.

I watched the original not long ago. Wasn't too bad.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 10

I started watching AoT when it dropped, 10 years ago? But then I couldn't keep up with all the characters being introduced, and then getting killed off.

Am I supposed to care?

But watching the series in 2023/24, I could at least follow it. That boy Eren got anger issues, but I get it....

And then I didn't get it.

What it is show about again?

I gave up brehs.
  • I wasn't feeling the switch in animation, a few seasons back.
  • The time jump was not helping things.
  • New characters, double crossing, relentless bleaknesses, a pretty predictable theme that fascism is bad/war is bad...
I had to give it up and just start watching summaries.

Naw B, this wasn't for me. They had me at the start, but now we're talking time travel, inevitability, etc etc...

I know this means some demerits on my Anime Fan Club card, but I'm gonna take it.

High Card S2 - I hated this show since S1. Why did I keep watching. Bailed at episode 7.

Ishura - I said it before, that show was a mess. Bunch of characters, no clear storyline. So it's a power struggle after the defeat of the demon lord?

After the demon lord hmm, what does that remind me of?

Freiren - I liked it... Show of the year? Of the past couple years?

That's what I see in these reddit/youtube streets, and that just lets me know, I'm not in the zeitgeist of the community. I like it well enough to keep watching and see where the characters go.

But theyr'e saying this show stacks up with the "greats".

I'm out of the loop, permanently.

That's cool, it's happened to me before. I don't care if KRS drops an album, Nas. And I really don't care about whoever's actually popular. If something bubbles up, I might peep - but I'm no longer out there needle dropping everything.

Dungeon Meshi - I'm feeling this. Not sure if they're taking a break, or the season is done - but the "monster of the week turned into a meal" - is actually pretty creative.

Bravern? - still haven't watched Ep 3. I know it's a send up for Giant Robot shows, but it's aight.

Solo Leveling - I'm on chapter 187 of the Manwha, that's how much I liked the series. But if I step back a bit - it's great animation, great character design, great fights - but some BS in terms of plot and characterization.

Right now I'm watching Apothecary Diaries or something like that. Not bad so far.

Dungeon Meshi is continuing in the spring season and will have 24 episodes iirc.

As far as Sousou no Frieren, as much I love the manga and the series in general I need it to deliver on S2 before putting it for goats. Since that has the best arc in the manga and also gives me the consistency I want to see. It is going down as one of the best one season runs easily.

The best thing about the series is that it is a different kind of fantasy story with none of the bullshyt. The manga, "The Witch and the Beast" is similar and why these two are by far my favorite ongoing Fantasy mangas. The great thing about is that it is such an easy recommend. It's a series that at worst you will have a solid time watching. At best, you will fall in love with the series.

@LordDeathwatch Kingdom finishing with the 3 squad strat against Wu Fengming. I like how Wu recognizes his failure for underestimating Xian and Ben. Since his primary focus was Teng. But even in the heat of the moment Qiang Lew seems to have the kill on Wu. But damn body double had me fooled. :pachaha:

Towards the end of the episode we see Xin noticing a small group moving on their own. And he presses on to catch Ling Huang and Wu Fengming off guard. This does a great at showcasing Xin's instinctual awareness of what is happening. He gets the surprise attack but got fooled by Wu :mjlol:.

Tho this really showed that even within a nation it is a survival of the fittest. Wu knows they are only after him and not Ling. Who cares if that dude is a Fire Dragon? I am going to take this opportunity to escape and become greater than my mentor.

Here we get a slight hint to Xin and Zheng's goal of uniting the 7 Kingdoms making actual progress. Since this will hurt Wei and strength Qin as a result. Qin, Zhao and Chu are really looking like the 3 big dogs now. Kind of interesting if this turns into a free for all war between the 3 or Zhao and Chu team up again. But given that failure of the colation army I have my doubts.

Li Mu brings up a BIG and IMPORTANT detail. Qin wants to unite the seven Kingdoms, but that is Zheng's goal not Buwei Lu's goal. Zheng having to beat Lu is his priority number in order to make his goal real.

And oh my god Zheng's mother is back and not even a second I am wishing she would get killed off. :pacspit: She suddenly wants to play politics without spending much time. Apparently the prostitute that Lu gave her after he dumped is a big key for her wanting to have her own nation. This bytch wants a nation, but she doesn't care for the politics aspect of it. :mjlol:

Man the end of the episode when we see her and that male prostitute with kids. Man she treats Zheng so cold and doesn't even have audacity to look him in the eyes. I get what Xiang says to Xin since their daughter is that woman's granddaughter. If I were Zheng, no way in fukking hell I would let that bytch see my daughter.

Dungeon Meshi Ep 14

Pretty solid episode focusing on Kabru and his party. You know if it was a different leader like Laios that illusion spell could catch the end of a party. Most would likely have one person taking out the rest of their party. But here it really showed how well Kabru knows his party. He seems pretty idealistic, but he makes for a good leader.

Although him figuring out everything from our main group to almost the exact detail was almost creepy.

New OP & ED for 2nd half of S1.
