Few other shows that started.

The remake for the beloved Spice & Wolf started today. And off to a good start. The pair of Lawrence & Holo really work well with each other. This one definitely looks great as a first time watcher of the series OP & Ed Below, as well as the confirmation of 25 episodes straight.

The other one being, "I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince, so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability". Given the new studio, visually the first episode was very episode with the training match between Lloyd and Sylpha. The magic system in this show has potential to be interesting. Lloyd being able to use 4 spells at once, considering doing two is impressive is definitely something.

The MC feels like a mixed bag. Him being a psycho for magic makes him interesting. On the other hand his whole shota design is weird and honestly at times is a bit uncomfortable to watch. Beyond that issue good first episode despite the pacing feeling a bit fast. OP

Also, new Tsukimichi OP and ED for 2nd cour

:mjlol:What in the blue hell is Train to the End of the World? People over 21 turning into Animals? 7G instead of 5G. Some old dude with CTE that transformed into a young man with a train cap.

I miss animes that went nonstop.

Black Clover was the last GOAT that went for years.

These 12-20 ep seasons kill me
I mean something has to give. Quality of episodes vs quantity. Tbh airing week after week isn't sustainable. You either have situations like with One Piece where they adapt 1 chapter per episode, which is atrocious. Or waste resources on creating low quality filler, which people have complained in series like Bleach where only one filler content is worth watching.

Of course there is the issue of there is too much anime being created, but that isn't changing anytime soon. A situation like SLF right now would be most ideal for what you are looking for. It aired for 6 months from October to April. It comes back in 6 months again for S2 content in October and airs again till April 2025.

@LordDeathwatch Put Kingdom on pause to catchup for TenSura S3, but getting back on the Kingdom grind again. I've got to be honest the whole episode where Diao is kidnapped, and Kai Meng asks for her answer for fight, and she gives a greedy answer. Getting a look at Diao's resolve was cool, but I can't feel that it made the danger of her being kidnapped by the wayside. Basically 1 episode she is back with Xin and the gang after the Tactician exchange. I guess for Wei it's their confidence that their tactician is better.

Beyond that got some good stuff focusing ob Ben Wang. I like this small talk here. Basically your father would never put himself in such danger. His father is strong, but a strong coward to all intents and purposes. If the risk reward ain't in his favor he is folding. The odds ain't looking good for Ben going up against Zi Yong. I've got to give up to Ben here.

I've got to say even being enemies here, they did a great job of exhibiting Zi Yong's character. His stepsister Zi Sige meant the world to him. Unfortunately their love wasn't thought of highly by others. After all it doesn't matter if they weren't related by blood, their stepfather would disgrace if such a thing happened. He had Sige marry a man known as the wife killer. I have to give my respect for Sige for putting her love over her life. It destroyed Yong as he killed 3 of the 7 flame dragons which resulted in their imprisonment.

But you can empathize if the one thing you cherished in this world was taken from you, you would be out for blood. When it was mentioned before that Yong is stronger than when he was in prison was a bit confusing. But it wasn't until after the flashback where it hit me. The reason he was stronger was simply he didn't care much for the safety of his life. You do wonder why fight for Wei still? Man probably just wanted to die on the battlefield.

The key to beating him for Ben was to get that one chance. You weren't going to catch him unguarded in a non-vital spot, but rather in a vital spot. Ben shows again he is very clever and kills Yong and puts him out of his misery. And puts Qin in a great position that the other two squads are unaware of.

Now how Ben is still pressing forward is a question I ain't going to press too much about.

Absolutely nasty work to give your daughter away to someone literally called "the wife killer", I don't care about the circumstances. Everything that followed had me adding everyone else involved in the garbage pile with no fukks given.

That said, Ben was in dire need of a significant W to maintain his relevance so I understand why he had to get it but they did an excellent job showcasing how outmatched these young guys are in comparison to the warriors they're facing. None of these current generation are like Wang Yi threats, it's taken crazy circumstances and a lot of luck to survive.

Finished Frieren. Immediately goes to my top 5 GOAT list. The storytelling on every single episode is so good, from exposition, rising movement, climax, falling action and all the way to the conclusion, which always seemed to leave viewers satisfied. This is a crazy high bar they've set for the upcoming seasons.
