High Card Episode 21

God Owen went and made the situation worse. Getting revenge is understandable, but you lack information. Nice moment for Finn with his declaration of High Card's mission.

Man Zenon is one crazy motherfukker, dude he continued his mission at the cost of his own life. I am assuming he was Ban's longest term associate for "The Family" seeing as he was at the incident they destroyed Finn's family. I am curious did they plant Tilt cursed of the Black Knight of him right before the accident at Finn's old home, or was he an associate with Khlondike before that? It is more tragic if it was the former.

As annoying as Sugar has been, I do admit that Young feeling inspired by her was a nice moment in of itself. Sometimes the motivation of the younger generation can motivate the older ones as things can be done differently. The problem here is that the Royal Family continues to be very suspect. Honestly not surprised they killed Young and to note this time his death needs to stick otherwise the scene loses a lot of points. But tragic as Sugar wrote that card for him, Young got stabbed.

Ban's question is the justice you believe is justice? That question lies with the royal family, and after they went after Young you question that even more. While I would say Ban's ways of using the cards isn't good in a lawful sense, he has 100% faith in his ideals. Meanwhile, for Theodore could the ideal of servicing the royal family, not be the justice he thought it was. I think the contrast between Theodore and Ban's ideals is fascinating.

This was a great episode of Tsukimichi today. Lots of information, but it was interesting, and I like how it was presented.

Eva knows Makoto's parents and also she and Luria were from the same town as them. Ok this is interesting. This is golden information for Makoto. I assume he would try to travel where that town was. I had my suspicions about Eva, but it seems like see can be trusted going forward.

Luto is a superior dragon and based on how casually they talked seems to be on the same level as Tomoe. It's really hard to say. Luto really went and could change gender and have no issue with it lmao. As figured Makoto isn't the first people to come to this world. But the nature of the guild and level is influence from video games from Makoto's world. I think this is a cool thing to see how Makoto's world influenced this world.

And so because it was 1000 years ago that this person came to this world, and they knew video games, the only justification you can think of is that time goes by faster in this world than in Makoto's world. But the problem Makoto will face is where he will end up. And you don't want to end up in outer space.

Also, Luto mentioning Makoto taking a third option. There is the possibility of Makoto being invested in this world and not simply wanting to only stay in his home world. For instance, he would want to express his feelings to the girl that Toa looks like back home. But he has built a place with a group of beings that love him and there is the possibility that him and Hibiki reconnect. Also, the fear that Tomoki causes trouble for Makoto in the future.

I really hope that wasn't foreshadowing at the end of what might happen to Tomoe. Although the stuff with the 3rd path, I wonder if Tomoe would push for Makoto to go for that.

One thing imo that a lot of isekais lack is the proper use of multiple characters being transferred into another world. Similar to Shizue, Yuuki creates a connection to Rimuru from his former world. Is it not needed? Maybe not, but it makes the conversation that Rimuru has with Shizue and Yuuki more heartfelt because it has the feel of seeing an old friend from your hometown. As Rimuru creates a place for monsters to be at peace with each other, this aspect gives Rimuru motivation to get along with humans. Despite being a slime, his personality is essentially human.

Also, this episode supplements the stuff regarding Shizue where she was forcefully summoned into this world and was used as a weapon. The summoning ritual Veldora mentions at the beginning of the series can also summon children. In which the power that we saw Shizue in habit, kids can't contain that in a healthy manner for more than 5 years.

The series did a great job in demonstrating how cruel it was for Shizue, but imagine these group of kids who got forced to live in this world and will be forced to die for things absolutely out of their control. By understanding Shizue's situation you can really grasp how important helping those kids was to her. You really understand what Rimuru calls carrying on her will.

Overall this shows the cruel part of this world and the human side of it can be sickening. These people are greedy, and it further illustrates that these individuals being summoned are looked as no more than tools. But it's even more gruesome to see that they don't care about the consequences for the people being summoned. Oh, it's a child? Guess we had bad luck better trying again.
