Finished watching Tearmoon Empire. I never would expected this to be one of my favorite comedies of the season.

You know with such an emotional episode 1, it setup the stage for the comedy for this entire season. It was so consistent and on point it just flowed so well. :mjlol: This was one of the most fun anime shows of this season if not the year.

It is always funny seeing what Mia is thinking compared to everyone else. Two great examples in this episode the first when her and Anne were surprisingly on the same page and it lead to one of the funniest anime kicks I have ever seen. As you can see below

giphy.gif

2nd was in typical Mia fashion where she wanted to make sure she protected her happiness, but it looked like she was showing mercy to those people that ruined her life. :pachaha:

I do plan to read the Light Novel tho since there seems to be tons of source material left. I am curious as a reader if all the world building flows better reading it then watching the anime. Just on the surface level there seems to be a lot of potential to it, but this season was mostly focused more so on Mia, which was great and hilarious on its own.

SxF was very good this season, and I enjoyed the finale a lot. It was nice to see Bond get some shine because he was kind of put on the backburner this season due to the boat arc and the other substories going on. I enjoy the combination of Bond and Loid, and this episode's adventure had the right balance of comedy and action. Also, I think we have to give some respect to Frankie because he's viewed as a comic relief character, but he's good at reading the room outside of his love life. I felt the advice he gave to Loid about Bond was very good.

Lastly, I felt this season was about Loid opening up himself because I felt the finale was an accumulation of Loid opening up to his true emotions. I felt him being legit proud of Bond brought that out of him, which was a nice touch.

Today's Apothcary Diaries episode was more of a self reflection oh how Maomao's life had been since coming to the rear palace. For a situation that she was forced in, it honestly wasn't too bad for her. It had various highs and lows, but she got to meet a great amount of people. Also this may be the first time Jinshi got Maomao flustered since every other time it was because of her position she had to bite her tongue. But it goes to show how clear communication is important because Maomao and Jinshi's interpretation on Maomao's words were vastly different :lolbron:

Lady Gyokuyou knows these two all too well, not to mention Maomao has become family for her since she saved her daughter. In that case you know she is pissed Maomao was taken away from her.

Shangri-La Frontier Episode 13 adapted chapters 26+27. As well as a funny anime original scene for Rei after the episode was over.

For a manga with some great art, the anime is doing that justice, while keeping up the consistent great animation for this season. The high level consistency of both art and animation is amazing to see as a manga reader. 2 chapter pace does help do that, but its not slow as it does a great job at creating ideal gaming inversion. Here we great examples of both banter and backstory information which you would know about if you game a lot.

Banter between the trio is great. :lolbron: Sunraku and Katzo completely going at each other perfectly illustrate how gaming with your homies be like. And they aren't afraid to get under Arthur's skin. While it was nice to see a different side of her, her sadisitc side is too strong :pachaha:

Seeing the Hizutome family was great, as each of them has their own hobbies they are passionate about, but every Sunday they agree to spend time together. I think this idea is a great idea for families where hobbies aren't intersected. And seeing each of them thought the other's hobby was weird was funny.

Her sister is a big fan of Towa. Rakurou can't mention he games with her, but to say he is a fan of her is definitely the furthest thing away from the truth :mjlol:

Finished watching Rainy Protocol. This legit was one of the worst anime originals and hell recent anime I have seen. Calling it :trash: would be a compliment. The idea of E-Sports anime is an idea that could work but the execution was beyond atrocious.

Can't wait to see the meltdowns over how this ends. I still say Naruto had a way better ending. Hell Attack on Titan had a better ending.

Bleach ending felt like Kubo just gave up. He wrote himself into a corner with a literally unbeatable antagonist given the powerset and said screw it I'm not even gonna try to fix it deal with it.
Still haven’t watched the new anime cause of my memories of how the manga ended

Kubo had a real problem creating antagonist that had powers that couldn't be beat. Hell he had to move Aizen away from his real powerset because if he didn't and Aizen can control all your senses how could you defeat him? Aizen was so powerful Kubo didn't even invent a Bankai for him. You can tell this because he never used it before Ichigo defeated him. Yhwach was even worse than Aizen. There was no way to defeat him that actually made sense without coming up with some bullshyt.

Top notch tsundere energy. :mjlol:

This adaptation here was insanely good. It really elevated the source material in ways where it took the manga jokes and made them anime jokes. Which is perfect considering its meant to be a parody.

It feels Japan really goes all out on these parody comedies like this, Konosuba and Emmience. Meanwhile they put zero effort in the more typical harem rom-coms, which is kind of ironic.

Dark Gathering wrapped its season finale for episode 25 by finishing adapting chapter 33 and 34. With one scene from chapter 51, but it works well adding the scene to this episode.

Adaptation was fantastic. Art of the anime was never going to match that of the manga, but everything else was executed very well. Pacing was on point, the direction of horror was top notch and balancing out the humor with the seriousness of the plot was so good. Music was awesome. Animation was consistent, which was one of my worries.

This episode really set the stage for the Kyoto arc. And saying Kyoto is next, that's a real tease. I do believe this anime was a hit in Japan, so maybe we will get a S2 down the line. @LordDeathwatch if you want to jump on the manga you could start either chapter 35 or 34 if you want to reabsorb the info Yayoi-chan gave in this episode. As lots of important stuff was mentioned. Anime did well in Japan so another season is very possible and there is enough chapters for 1 cour season.

Regarding the finale itself

I do love in this episode we see how Eiko and Keitaro try to provide to assist Yayoi-chan. Keitaro with a very practical tool. The fact that Eiko went for an idea that Yayoi-chan thought about in the past really showcases how much of a lowkey genius Eiko is. Which can be overlooked given how big brain Yayoi-chan is.

Poor Ai-chan. :mjcry: She is not being tortured even more by that God. Mad props for Yayoi-chan putting her Ai-chan's life over her main mission which is to allow her mom to rest in peace. :salute: It really shows how composed Yayoi-chan is.
