Finished watching it today. And was pretty enjoyable I would say. First and last arc of the season was good. Middle fizzled it but was fine when all put together.

Dead Mount Death Play Ep 23 adapted chapters 73, 74, 75 and most of 76. This adaptation is going to run into the issue of it needs 2 instead of 1 more episode to wrap up this arc properly. So it will be interesting how they will rearrange these chapters to do that.

The big thing with this episode is the reveal of the relation between Polka and Corpse God. His reincarnation meant to happen to one of his descendants. Curious why he never dug into his relation with Polka more.

Hopefully they saved the budget for the finale since it will have a lot of action.

This has been on of my favorite episodes so far. Xin goal is to be the top general. But in this episode for the first time understood the impact a great general does. Basically here you have brains vs instinct and in each having a massive impact. Really good stuff.

Absolutely, it's a great dynamic with the instinctual general because that's actually rooted in reality. Not everyone has a meticulously executed plan with all these backups, some people literally rely on intuition and move accordingly. There's plenty of accounts of famous commanders who moved entire armies according to the flow of battle, in defiance of traditional tactics.

It's the fine wrinkles like that which distract you from the Robot Chicken class animation.

Man I hope they announce a S2. Need to catch up since I haven't watched since the Island Observatory Case arc. But S2 will have some good content to dig into

Man S1 of Helck ended and man this has been one of my favorites from this and last season. I would rate it 9/10 which would be higher if the animation was higher but music, story telling, voice acting, comedy, and music were so fukking good. From a story telling perspective this is right up there with Sousou no Frieren and Apothcary Diaries in this regard. @LordDeathwatch @42 Monks this might be up your alley to binge but the big thing to note that the pacing is SLOW. It doesn't really start till the 2nd half of Season 1.

It does a great job with the comedy, but obviously that can be subjective. The manga has been completed for awhile, but even with the animation being medicore/inconsistent the story telling and voice acting are at such a high level I would at least give the anime a chance before considering reading the manga.

Honestly I am so happy the ending spot where they ended because I was afraid it was gonna end at a massive cliff hanger. And there was a lot of points where they could have ended and it would have been misery. S1 ends at a spot where I could be comfortable waiting for S2. Regarding the episode.

You know this episode went in a direction that I didn't expect but it was great.. Since Vamiro never considered from Helck's position what stopping the humans would mean. Having to kill all his closest friends, which from the start is something he did not want to do. Vamirio understanding this because at that moment he would be forced to kill Alicia. The woman he loves.

She couldn't imagine killing the ones closest to her. Honestly for Helck this is something that he thought couldn't be possible. Hell just living with the rest of the demons was something he didn't think could be a possibility. And he was happy beyond belief for that. But to also add saving those dear to him.

I love that Vamirio realized Helck is now her companion and friend. I will do this simply because he I would never force my friend to do something that I would be terrified of doing myself. So now we are regrouping with Azdora to figure out a new plan with Vamirio and Helck's new goal.

This show always finds a way to sprinkle in the comedy. Vamirio being so sure Azudora is alive was hilarious and did help lighten up the highly intense mood.

Yeah she's definitely one of the most dynamic characters in the show, especially early on because there's some more fantastical elements when everything else in the show is fairly grounded. Her whole village is trash morally but not to be fukked with in any other way.
