Idk breh, watching and reading the manga seems kinda OD for me. But that’s probably because I’m not watching things on a weekly released basis.

I get that the anime would be a little different in some ways, but straight up changing the story so I’m low-key forced to read the manga is a smart ass hustle.

I got like 300 episodes of Bleach to watch, idk if I can read some mangas too.

Not against mangas, but damn I’d rather watch it.

:mjlol: :mjlol:
By all means breh, just watch it then. This is something you do for enjoyment, nothing is mandatory. If you ever end up with a series that doesn't get a follow up season or turns out shyt, you can always go back and check out the source material at your leisure.

It's up to you.

Light Novels, Manga and Anime have all their advantages and disadvantages. Series with a shyt ton of content won't be able to fit it all in the anime adaptation, which is when going back to manga and novels has its appeal. Also seeing the animation come to life is the appeal of watching stuff they have already read.

I personally use S1 of an anime to get a feel of a series and decide if I want to invest in reading. Something like Tokyo Revengers is something I don't care enough to read, but I found the anime entertaining. Stuff like 86 (which I'm currently slowly slowly reading), MT, Tanmoshi, SxF, Made in Abyss, JJK. Are examples of series that I am invested into reading and staying up to date with the series when I have time for it.

I will always prioritize watching the anime over reading unless the adaptation is dogshyt. Also note that when a series catches up to the source, the wait can be very, very long. These are just my 2 cents.

I know it’s not mandatory my g. I’m just saying when you switch up the story so much, it’s like you feel you want to read the manga to know how the story really happened.

Compared to if the anime having different things that happen, but have the same conclusion for the most part. That way now you wanna read the manga to see the differences.

If they change the whole story you feel like, “this shyt ain’t canon!!”

It’s not a big deal, but that’s how I feel when they do that.

Not against manga or #readgang

That’s what I was tryna say. Like wouldn’t manga readers be kinda upset if they didn’t adapt certain parts into the anime?

A lot of people were pissed Tokyo Ghoul didn’t follow the manga.

I get that the anime catches up and stuff has to change, but I didn’t know some animes change the story like that.

I’m new to some of this shyt. Most of the animes I watched followed the manga for the most part.

Happens all the time. Even with anime that gets great adaptations people will nitpick over the smallest things. But seeing your beloved manga, light novel, visual novel or video game given an awful adaptation is very upsetting :mjcry:

A lot of times ignorance is bliss when you watch a series for the first time in anime form. You get shyt like Demon Slayer and Spy x Family that manages to even enhance the source material. You got shyt like Promised Neverland, Tokyo Ghoul, or Seven Deadly Sins that just kill you.

Manga adaptations tend to have the best success rate of the 4 I mentioned before. I like to think of anime as manga in animated form. Adapting from the 3 other sources requires more creativity, which makes them much more difficult.

There’s also occasions where the anime-filler adds to elements of a manga. I’m way more likely to choose one medium (I read more than I watch), so I can’t say how often this happens…it’s rare in my view. But stuff like One Piece and Bleach will have some really dope filler once in a while.

At one point One Piece had characters separated in different places and the manga barely showed us what went down. The anime had filler that fleshed out their experiences more. I only ever read Bleach but there’s some filler my friends put me on that were flames too (muramasa’s rebellion).

Disclaimer: most filler is trash to me though.

Because I was manga only, I almost missed out on that arc. My friend was talking about match-ups I didn't even know happened, and that's how I wound up looking for it just to catch more Kenpachi hype.
Facts. The fact that they actually nailed the physical manifestations of each Zan accurately is what impressed me. They went over the fact that you have to commune with your weapon in order to attain Bankai but how they'd actually look? I never even considered that.

Of course Kenpachi never would have had a problem.

Anime is mostly a promotional tool for manga, light novels, and video games. They'll make an anime of something that's still in progress to drum up interest in the source material. It'll get a season if it's lucky and that's it. Probably 80% of the anime made that's based off another ongoing form of media will never reach any sort of meaningful conclusion.

Your aversion to reading manga means you'll typically get the worst version of any given story or an incomplete version of the story. You'll also be constantly kept in suspense of a story continuing or not.
I only got into anime 6-7 years back but soon after it was Gantz and Claymore that got me to appreciate mangas. Mainly because the animes for both had such underwhelmingly trash endings despite the dope concepts that out of curiosity I sought out the mangas for comparison's sake... only to discover there was still like 100+ chapters of content for each. Not to mention the ink/art quality completely shat on the production value of the animes. Granted Gantz manga ending was still mid, but Claymore's was like Jordan's game 6 in '98.

Berserk was another example... which i know is ironic given all the delays.. but discovering the series 5-6 years ago through the movies on Netflix, then sticking it out through that cell-shaded anime season.. the best decision i made after was to just read the manga from scratch, all the way to where it is now.

Granted, a franchise like Attack on Titans I prefer to watch as an anime and so I will never look at the manga because i don't want the spoilers. But of course, the production value for that anime is so top notch and it's popular enough for timely follow-up seasons, that it feels worth it to wait it out.

but nah this #ReadingWars shyt ya'll been on for the last couple days is wack and boring as fukk.
