ya they still rely on bd sales but not as much I know seen several shows not sell much but get another season green lit
Comes down to source material sales, streaming sales, and toy sales if bd don’t sale as much I know

yeah, it can be hard to pin down what exactly goes into a successful season when we don't know the other variables. Lot of ways to make money these days.

I generally see it as a plus if a show has great BD sales, because that probably means they're also killing it in other areas like figurines.

Rewatching Mobile Suit Gundam & my daughters will not stop roasting me for the dated animation. Just randomly coming downstairs like "Ugh, that show looking dusty AF Dad." Then they do something casually out of pocket like smack one of the female characters for talking back 'cause 1979 Japanese media and they get heated.
