and then you want to lump game of thrones in there in a completely half-assed grasp at a point that's too obtuse for you to deliver on your ownout of all the multitude of themes covered in GoT, sexuality is maybe on the third tier of them solely in the regard that certain characters have their decisions and development guided by those impulses.

Here you are trying to dictate to other people why they watch media you don't approve of. You're damn near Jack Thompson commenting on violent video games and their effects on players and why people play them. Like him just because you don't approve of something doesn't re-define what it is or it's effects on people.
Some people can't understand the difference between fanservice in a TV show or series and actual porn. There's probably somebody wanking it to Emilia Clarke's nude scenes in GoT right now. That doesn't make it porn and it doesn't make it not porn because you acknowledge it's artistic merit and approve of it despite it's sexual content.
What actually makes it not porn is the fact that the series primary reason for existing isn't simply to sexually stimulate the viewer. Ecchi comedy exist as absurdist humor. It's primary reason for existing it to get the viewer to laugh at the stupidity and absurdity of it all. Hell most ecchi doesn't have any real depictions of sex in it to begin with. In the vast majority of these shows nobody actually has sex they just behave like idiots surrounding it.
don't think ecchi is worth dying on a hill about. there is so much unscrupulous fukkery in this genre that its hard to defend being an enthusiast of it with ."I only watch it for the jokes. the t*ts just happened to be a part of it"

I watch a wide variety of anime from Ecchi to Shonen to Shoujo to Senien to Josei. I'll be damned if somebody is gonna pick a single genre I watch and try to characterize me as some sort of fukking pervert over it. Especially when they don't even get the genre in question. Nobody sitting around flapping to some damn cartoons. Real porn exist. Cartoons are not sexually arousing to begin with.
I'll watch a battle anime, a romance anime, a slice of life anime, a harem ecchi comedy, mecha, a music show, even a reverse harem. Sorry my enjoyment of anime isn't simply limited to shonen and Senien in-line with shonen.

This shyt never stops. 
I forgot how trash Golden Time's ending was. Those last few episodes the show really abandoned what worked for it and went all in on forced drama. The amnesia storyline was not good. The show has almost zero closure. It simply resolves the main conflict and the credits roll with a montage.
How To Raise a Boring Girlfriend really showed how to end a show like that. It even sectioned the ending off as a fan service movie and time skipped into the future and involved the full cast.
