Never change brother:lolbron:
It's like somebody calling Game of Thrones porn because it has sex scenes in it. Porn primary reason for existing is to actually be porn. Just because something has nudity in it doesn't make it porn. Fanservice is a part of ecchi shows but such shows don't exist to be pornography.

Yami, Jack, Dorothy, & Nozelle have proven to be legit in the past few arcs. The rest? Eh.

They exist, like most literary figures who are held up early in a story, as the standard by which all other characters are judged, especially the protagonist. They're there to be exceeded, it's a literary metric of character progression for almost any fictional work.

Jedi, Jounin, Aes Sedai, Seven Warlords, Judges, Generals, Gotei 13, Ace, Spetznaz, etc.

I'm talking about ecchi anime. You're being completely disingenuous about that Fire Emblem bs oneoff like it's indicative of anything else I've ever posted.

I guess when it's anime it's different but when HBO sprinkles a bunch of nudity and actual sex scenes into a show that doesn't suddenly make it porn.

doing a yearly rewatch of bebop. this time making gifs of the remastered release and finding more reasons to appreciate it.

enjoying all the meta humor, subversions of pop culture. Like the “put your gun down and walk away” trope you see often. A syndicate thug uses Faye as a hostage and tells Spike to put his gun down or else. Spike just puts a bullet in his head

Jet tries to explain how a kid has immortality through some spontaneous combustion in space. Spike says he understood none of that, Jet agrees that everything he said was ridiculous. That’s probably what the viewer thinks too. Unlike other sci-fi that attempt to make their universe appear convincing through some space magic explanation that only makes sense to the characters involved, Bebop skips the exposition and just does whatever it wants in a non-linear episode.

There’s a scene where villains are shooting at the crew and hitting nothing. One of them says goddamn why is our aim so bad.

All of their bounties end in failure one way or another even though they have a stacked crew that you'd expect to be more successful than they are. ofc very similar to Lupin.

HxH eps 36-41:

Gon didn't stand a chance. I'm glad they didn't go with the "underdog protagonist barely squeaks out a win" shyt. Even the ref was like ":mjcry: I better end this shyt"

But it more feels like Hikosa is.... guiding and teaching them, in his own way.

Hate to see them and Mr. Wing part ways. He's a cool teacher.

The ep where Gon went home was cool, too. I generally hate those kind of eps, but this one was alright.

Then the story shifted to Kurapika, which I'm enjoying MUCH more. HUGE shift in tone. Feels like a legit crime/intrigue revenge story, while Gon and Killuya can sometimes feel like they just bungling on to another adventure, on some Bob Hope/Bing Crosby shyt.

Very cinematic, too. Limos driving across the desert, the dead city covered in sand....

which hid another group of people the fandom been:gladbron:'ing about for the last 20 years, The Phantom Troupe.

All the pieces of the story are moving along at a good pace, and things should pick right up, being Chrollo told them to kill everybody there.

only 107 eps until I'm caught up. I don't even mind. :yeshrug:
