The way Naruto threw the whole subplot of Tobi grooming Sasuke for some greater purposes to the bushes with no explanation what so ever is really bothering me. Than out of nowhere pulled some reincarnation shyt out they ass and reaffirms this bs with some "I always knew" :troll: is borderline trolling :beli:

It's what the people want, that's for sure. They did a poll on all of her work on NHK late last year and Inuyasha took the top spot. Both in series and character Inuyasha won. Ranma 1/2 came in second and it's what I would prefer to see.

Still glad to see this get some new life.

I just went through that entire poll. 200k submissions. They even had a vote for best episode of each series and best song. Fukai Mori was only 12th, no Shinjitsu no Uta surprisingly. Change the World #1 Inuyasha Song while the Urusei Yatsura OP won best song overall.

I would've voted Maison Ikkoku, Kyoko for best anime and character from her. Inuyasha being most popular anime/character was predictable, though I thought Sesshomaru could be #1 or #2 behind Lum.

90% of the Inuyasha voters were women. I knew the fanbase was disproportionate but that's Sailor Moon level.

64% of the Maison Ikkoku voters were over the age of 40 and 73% are male. The only one of her works not dominated by women. Probably not a coincidence since Godai is her only convincing male MC with a full character arc and everyone is of adult age.

He had the ending in place for some time, his old notes prove that, he just royally fukked up the execution. Everything felt rushed after so much time treading water with the Uchiha subplot.

He devoted too little time for that portion and highlighting the supporting cast and too much damn time on shyt that ultimately didn't matter.

Imma be real with you, something you won't get very often when folks start talking One Piece:

It's really not as good as the hype.

It's popular, has a fanatical arrogant following, and as a result has longevity and sales. All of which are impressive, undeniably but quality? It's as subjective as ANYTHING else you ever watch or read.

Like any good series, it has some crazy highs though, so can't knock it. :yeshrug:
:camby: @ this slander. Every One Piece fan can admit it takes a while before the series starts to click, and even with its many highs also has some lesser parts. When people call One Piece the GOAT it's entirely because closing in on 1,000 issues the series' story is still going strong, developing naturally and continuing to impressively expand its huge world. OP strives because the more time you invest in keeping up with it, the more rewarding it is. Seeing how comedy side characters from a hundred issues ago suddenly become vital in a new story development or the Strawhats finally encountering villains long teased, a person who hasn't kept up with One Piece simply can't understand that Oda's handling of world and plot continuity is next level.

That's what people praise One Piece for and dropping the series after a hundred episodes because you're not feeling where the hype comes from means you'll never start to see it. :manny:

I said what I said. :unimpressed:

What I'm not going to do is get drawn into yet another back & forth spanning pages over a difference in opinion. So out of respect, I'm going to thank you for your opinion and leave it there.

one piece slander is the bat signal for @TheGodling
Too many people slander OP's status. You don't become the best selling manga of all time by having an "arrogant" fanbase, that's just nonsensical. :skip:

There are genuine criticisms against OP but most of the time people fall back to complaining about the anime's pacing (which is definitely true but falls entirely on Toei) or just say that's it too damn long for them to bother to catch up. They're understandable reasons to not get into the series at this point but as someone who made that same journey 10 years ago I can attest that in the end your commitment will be rewarded tenfold.
