Nana.... wow. Havent thought about that in ages.

It's pretty good, if you're into josei/shoujo-ai

The pull for me is how well it handles adult relationships. Haven't seen a romance with more humanistic characters that carry as many weaknesses as they do strengths. Definitely hit/miss with people because you have to be into the genre and tolerate pop/rock music but it's rewarding if you are

those last two episodes gave me a migraine. Apparently the staff ran out of time and had to throw together a bunch of bullshyt to meet the deadline

EoE is the alternative and proper ending. No less insane but at least it looks good and ties up some loose ends
Just giving my thoughts of the series but before watching EOE, I had an issue with ep 25 I thought it was extremely pretentious and gave me a migraine as well. I did like episode 26 however because I kinda got the sense of where they were going and knew the show was just using the generic mecha battles and plot to further the psychological development of the characters. I do wonder what the ending would be if they did have time, as I'd hope it was along the lines of it

I spent close to an hour reading reviews on the show and I didn't realize how polarizing it was lol, either you LOVED it, HATED IT, or just didn't understand it. I funny enough find myself in the LOVED part ( I had a debate with my friend as, when it came to BEBOP I was in the I think this is overrated bunch and didn't understand the cult following for the show) but I think I find myself in that for this show. Don't get me wrong there are tons of flaws in this, like I would like to know what the angels were and where did they come from, as well as did Shinji's father have a part in creating them. Also some parts of the show did feel dull. All in all I did really enjoy it, give it around 8-8.5-10 I feel it could go up my rating with a re watch [/SPOILERS]

"There are a lot of giant robot shows in Japan, and we did want our story to have a religious theme to help distinguish us. Because Christianity is an uncommon religion in Japan we thought it would be mysterious. None of the staff who worked on Eva are Christians. There is no actual Christian meaning to the show, we just thought the visual symbols of Christianity look cool. If we had known the show would get distributed in the US and Europe we might have rethought that choice."

Yeah, a lot of Neon Genesis is pretentious. Anno definitely did things just to get a rise out of the viewer and it's really not as deep as it appears to be. Arguably the most flawed classic anime which is why you have so many polarizing opinions with nobody in the middle. I lean towards the "it's great" side as well. I had the same state of mind after finishing it. Was only after watching the movie I felt somewhat at peace with the ending and gave it a 9. I have no idea if I'd rate it lower or higher if I watched it a 2nd time knowing it's flaws and how shallow some of the writing is

I hiiiiiighly recommend you watch Revolutionary Girl Utena as well. Just as provoking except it's (mostly) meaningful and relevant to it's themes. Director is every bit as talented but not a headcase and the ending is good

Just saw the latest episode of Classroom of the Elite. I don't know what I ever saw in this show. It's turned to crap so fast. My interest in the main character's backstory is losing out to the fact that most of the characters on the show are unlikable a$$holes. The show also takes itself far too serious.

I don't like how we got a brief glimpse of his past and bam they drop it and focus it elsewhere
