Arguably the most flawed classic anime which is why you have so many polarizing opinions with nobody in the middle. I lean towards the "it's great" side as well. I had the same state of mind after finishing it. Was only after watching the movie I felt somewhat at peace with the ending and gave it a 9. I have no idea if I'd rate it lower or higher if I watched it a 2nd time knowing it's flaws and how shallow some of the writing is

I hiiiiiighly recommend you watch Revolutionary Girl Utena as well. Just as provoking except it's (mostly) meaningful and relevant to it's themes. Director is every bit as talented but not a headcase and the ending is good

will do and I just started EOE, I'm 5 mins in and I'm 100% more confused than I was for the actual show

EOE gets better the more you watch it and/or understand the lore behind all of it. First time I saw the Black Moon I was :what: :mindblown: but when you realize what that shyt is and what it means it's a lot more powerful than just a cool looking scene.

I'm still :dead: at all the fan theories and head cannon that the show had prior to the content of the Red Cross book becoming well known to everyone (and stuff like Anno saying the symbols were just aesthetics). There were some wild ass shyt written about the show 15 years ago that looks ridiculous nowadays.


Off topic, but when the hell are we getting Season 2 of One Punch Man? :damn: :feedme:

Shinji is even more unbearable in Rebuild of Evangelion, I have no clue how Anno pulled it off but he did. I wanted to punch the motherfukker after 3.0 :heh:

I've liked Rebuild for what it is, but the 4th film is gonna have to answer a lot of important questions to make the fukkery of 3.0 worth it. I know Anno likes to give as little information as possible and leave shyt open ended, but the story he's trying to tell this time needs more answers than usual for it to be any good.
