Sounds like Crunchyroll's getting cocky since they don't really have any competition. This is another reason to pass on Crunchyroll which is sad cause it only gives people more reason to pirate.

I been pirating since day 1:russ:

And I got the better quality video for my trouble:mjlol:

I'll still pay the $9.99 for VRV a month. Piracy is never justifiable because it basically just damages the industry if you can afford support it but choose to pirate anyway.

I pay because I was tired of being a leach to said industry when I could afford it.
:russ:you pirated anime for years and only just now started paying for it now your out here giving lectures

"it damages the industry" is silly, piracy is a part of the industry and it always will be as long as the internet is around. I think its safe to say most shows make a profit or at least break even. You have people spending thousands on DVDs, action figures, soundtracks, body pillows and more. DVD prices are probably so high partially because of piracy. Of course the people who make anime would make more money if nobody pirated, but its like porn at this point. There are more benefits for the consumer who watches for free than the one who pays.

If people really care about quality they could buy the Blu-ray release but the same people complaining about streaming quality probably won't do that.

How many people can afford that without seriously limiting the amount of shows of they watch? Why would you buy an expensive Blu-ray or DVD when you haven't seen the show and have no idea if it's good or not? "the people complaining" about Crunchyroll's shytty quality are the people who pay for Crunchyroll. Their already paying they shouldn't have to pay more to get the same quality streams as the people who watch for free.

The thing about a lot of pirates is they want to justify doing so.

This is true for some, but not for others.

I'd like to support the anime industry, but why would I support Crunchyroll, who doesn't give a shyt about dub fans like myself and now also has terrible video quality. The VRV thing sounds nice, but I don't have a console and I don't want to watch anime on a small screen like my phone. Until there's a Crunchyroll like subscription for dubs (or that cares about dubs), I won't really have any decent options. Funimation and other similar subscriptions don't work because its seriously limits the amount of shows you can watch.

I want to start buying DVDs, but like I said in an earlier post, it's damn near $1000 for my favorite series alone. No other entertainment hobby is so expensive to support and at the same time so easy to access for free. People can get CDs for $10 and they still pirate. Anime DVDs costing video game prices.

Since your so against piracy

I hope you never listen to music for free on Youtube.

I hope you never watch all cutscenes of a video game on Youtube either.
You pay for porn too?
You buying every anime soundtrack to listen to the one song you like?

It's good that you made the decision to pay for what you watch, the VRV deal appeals to you and fits your needs so you paid for it, that's great. :salute:

That being said its not a perfect solution for everybody.

TLDR - If the anime industry is serious about wanting to end piracy, they need to create incentives for people not to pirate. All I'm asking for is a paid version of kissanime with better streaming. Sadly kissanime cares more about dubs than a lot of the anime industry.

are you antoine on MyAnimeList? I been trying to remember which coli breh that was for the longest.

My newest console is a broken 360 (disc drive is broke) and I haven't bought a game in over a year.

I think I'm retired from video games unless they start making non-Shonen Jump anime games. Those SAO games don't look very good but at least their not the same old DBZ/Naruto/One Piece thats been getting games forever. Fairy Tail somehow hasn't had a game yet but if they make one I'll get it and the console.

Money that would have gone to games in the past can go to starting my anime DVD collection.

SAO only 49 eps how did you end up spending $550? :dwillhuh: Hold up this shyt $60 for 7 episodes? $240 for season 1 on Blu-ray. Damn, DVD got a much better price but still $160. Over $1000 to own my two favorite series alone and it could be over $1500 after their next seasons and movies. Got me thinking if I should just buy my favorite arcs but nah I need every Fairy Tail episode. SAO I can skip the entire GGO so that will save me $80.

I prefer blu ray for quality and durability reasons but if that shyt is too expensive to my liking I will get DVD version of it like I did with unlimited blade works

I wont buy long running ass anime series for the simple fact rewatch is damn near not happening aka naruto and one piece each of em around what 700 eps no way no how
Dbz is the longest one I will buy cuz I do rewatch and it's nowhere near that number

I don't have a PS4/PS3 or Blu-ray player so I want DVDs but unfortunately it seems most places are selling most shows in a blu-ray/dvd "combo pack" which just raises the price for something that is useless for me.

I never even watched more than a couple episodes of Naruto and One Piece in the first place. Shows that go 100s of episodes really have to be special for me to watch them. I liked the little bit of One Piece I saw on Toonami a decade ago, but not enough to watch hundreds more episodes.

Even when I first started watching Fairy Tail when it was at 175 episodes I thought that was a lot. I liked Rave Master though and the character designs and art for Fairy Tail looked excellent so I gave it a chance one day and it's been my favorite show since the first episode. That's the only show I wouldn't mind going 800 episodes but considering the manga is supposedly reaching its climax it might fall short of half of that.

Yu Yu Hakusho and DBZ are the only other 100+ episode shows I watched but even then I definitely missed a few DBZ eps here and there.

Fairy Tail I'll definitely re-watch over and over when it ends. That's a show that when it doesn't air for a few months I start to miss it real bad. Yu Yu Hakusho I been meaning to re-watch for years but never got around to it.

Word to @Ahyurea I'm actually going to watch Another. I hope it's good. :wow:
It's a disaster don't do that to yourself.

Anyone seen The Dragon Dentist? The dub comes out tommorow.

Kaze no Stigma - Pure piff. Another Cherami Leigh classic :wow:

Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse - Solid mech pilots vs monsters show. First two episodes are great then it has a timeskip and falls off a bit but I liked it.

Expelled from Paradise - Some decent ideas here but not executed well. The heavy use of CG got old real quick. Not very good.

Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance - I liked it a lot better than 1.0. Still not great but some good moments. I'll be watching 3.0 soon. I never seen the original series.
