Not being racist either… but its just the way they are.

Only reason I disliked WGU is because I could barely understand wtf these people were saying. And idk if this is an Indian thing and if they do this to other people, but dude would call/harass me NON-STOP about classes.

I didn't fail shyt either but back then, I worked nights and 10 hours shifts so I would usually get around to the coursework on the weekends or something, just dedicate an entire day to it since I had 3 days off… one full day dedicated to school.
It bothered me at first with the thick accents but once you take a couple of tests you eventually know all the procedures that you don't have to deal with the proctors that much.

The new proctor system allows you to use a chat box though

Im aware

It was more so the counselor. Couldn’t understand his ass either and he would call me at the most random and inconvenient times blowing my shyt up.

I literally had to tell bruh that I fukkin got it :dahell:

Im more of a crammer. Like Im around it a lot so I basically I study something everyday just by being alive but more subconsciously. But when I finally sit down and start shyt I usually don’t stop until I’m done, reached a milestone, burnt out, or if there is something outside of my control. Then I step away for a short period of time then start again

Like today, took the day off and finished some coursework relating to my certification. I wanted to watch EVERY lecture too, but ran out of time. I flew through the rest while my house was being cleaned and passed the exam with the cleaning lady in the kitchen talking in Spanish on her phone. My focus level is crazy when I need it to be

Love to see yall taking advantage :blessed:

Never had a chance to go, I'm making just $80k in a high COL area (rent is $2k next year) with no degree so I know I'm doing better than others on paper.
Hope yall go well past me onto better things :wow:

I hate IT at this point :mjcry:

I started the Cybersecurity program in July, still working Full-Time and then some so can't rush through these courses like people on Reddit have. I am aiming to take the CompTIA+ by the end of next month though.
To be honest the CompTia Security+ is probably the most valuable out of all the certifications in the degree program

It's good to knock out A+ first because there are two parts

Shyt you already in the door, so getting those certs and a degree will help you with promotion opportunities.

Might as well give it a shot and go

Yep I got rejected from jobs because I didn't have Security+ , but I have a security clearance so that might factor into it a little bit

Security clearance and Security+ is the gateway

Also I got A+, Network+, and Project+, and all I've managed is one interview

Lowering requirements for degrees is almost always never a good thing and only ends up hurting the graduate long term in not preparing them for life after college.
Also depends on how rigorous the program is and the graduate themselves being able to take advantage of opportunities afforded by the program or outside opportunities. Don't know much about WGU's program myself though.

Idaho.
For someone who is interested in the security, GRC, risk management space, would yall recommend cybersecurity or the network engineer degree? I’m assuming the latter. I make a fairly high salary now (almost 200k working in non-technical tech role w/no degree), but the no degree bit will always affect me when job searching IMO and I really want a government job :(
